Feeling Lonely TTC

I know I have no rights to feel this way. I'm TTC my second after all, this time round I feel so lonely.

I've tried to find people who are in the same boat as me, post IUD removal but I can't find anyone so I think I'm alone.

I have no one to bounce experiences with.

I know I'm probably being selfish.

I don’t think you are selfish everyone’s TTC journey is different. I think we all just hope we’ll be the one who conceives 1st month.

I feel very similar and also then feel awful because we’ve only been TTC for 3 months and know others have already been trying longer.

I really struggle with the unknown and even though I’ve been BBT and using OPKs this only helps to try and know when ovulating and not with the wait until AF comes.

I haven’t had an IUD removal as I was on the mini pill before but I’m always here if you want a chat. I find it the hardest that you don’t really talk to friends etc about it and it’s a bit of a taboo subject.

I think I’ve put too much pressure on myself which is making me more upset each month AF arrives.

Hope you’re feeling a bit better soon.

Thank you. I do think it's hard for everyone, but as you say we all struggle with the unknown.

For me it's the unknown of if my body has gone back to normal since coming off birth control and if the symptoms I'm feeling the withdrawI of birth control or symptoms of ovulation and/or pregnancy.

I didn't ovulate for upward of 9 months when I came off the pill last time. I found it quite difficult to relax when everyone told me to relax and that it was normal.

It’s difficult isn’t it, especially when we come off some sort of contraceptive which has suppressed all usual bodily activity for years.

I hate the relax and it’ll happen saying, it doesn’t help relax me 😂

annoyingly there’s no way to know for certain is there without tests. Have you tried ovulation tests?

I haven't brought any yet, but it's on my to do list to get ovulation kits.

I tried clear blue with my first but they are sooo expensive

I’m not TTCing post IUD removal this time but I was with my first pregnancy. How long have you been TTCing?

I don’t know if you’ll find it reassuring (because everyone is different so what happened for me won’t necessarily happen for you), but I conceived my eldest 3 cycles after having my IUD removed (I’d had 3 IUDs back to back, so I’d been using them for nearly 10 years and hadn’t had a period during that time).
I was tracking ovulation and ovulated the cycle after removal (about 5 weeks after it was taken out). I used OPKs twice a day (the cheap ones are fine) and monitored cervical secretions and did BBT (basal body temperature) to confirm that I had ovulated. My cycle completely went back to normal after ovulating 5 weeks post removal.

That does help, you are right though everyone's different. I'm expecting it to take longer for me to go back to normal, just because it took so long with the pill. Your experience helps.

I'm going to get some of the cheap ovulation trackers asap.

Hi! I know how you feel! We are trying for our second baby and I can`t really talk to anyone about it other than my husband.

Definitely get cheap tests! I have been using Easy@home strips (you can buy them from Amazon) and the Premom App. I used this to conceive our first baby and now using it to conceive the second one.

Thanks that's really useful. I'll order some right away. I had a look in Tesco's today but they only had the clear blue.

I've been using the Flo app myself.
