been trying for a boy after 3 girls. Got a positive (solid smiley) on Monday morning and had sex night before, Sunday evening, so I thought I was still in boy territory. However todays Wednesday and I’ve had ovualtion cramp and I KNOW I’m ovualting today I can feel it, took a test and I still am ovulating, so that leaves me 3 day cut off and now I’m convinced if I fall it will be a girl ( which isn’t the worst thing I’m happy but I’d like a boy)
sooo basically if I have sex again tonight can I boost my chance of a boy?

anyone fell pregnant with a boy 3 days prior to ovualtion?

thank you.

The Shettles method doesn’t work, most proper studies into whether or not timing of sex can influence the sex of the baby have either found that there is no impact or that the opposite is true (you’re more likely to have a boy if you have sex 2-3days before ovulation and a girl if you have sex on the day of ovulation or in the 12-24hours afterwards, obviously if you have sex multiple times during your fertile window then it’s a bit more of a lottery).

If anything if baby was conceived from having sex 3 days before ovulation you’re more likely to have a boy (although the studies and data on this aren’t brilliant or conclusive). There’s a really interesting chapter in ‘the impatient woman’s guide to getting pregnant’ where the author reviews all the studies and data on whether you can influence your child’s sex.

It’s highly unlikely to experience any noticeable symptoms of pregnancy as 3 days pregnant symptoms – early as three days after conception. In most cases, conception (fertilization of the egg by the sperm) occurs a few days after sexual intercourse, and then it takes some time for the fertilized egg to travel down the fallopian tube and implant itself into the uterine lining. After implantation, it may still take several days for the body to begin producing the hormone hCG (human chorionic gonadotropin), which is responsible for triggering early pregnancy symptoms.
