Clearblue digital (BFP with cramps)

Hi

I am 5 days late and been having constant cramps for about 9 days now, been absolutely exhausted, down in bed for days with a bad cold and was so convinced my period will turn up. However i did a test just now, got a BFP then ran to the shops to get another test as I couldnt believe what I am seeing. I got the clearblue digital and it shows pregnant 3+ weeks. Still in shock!!!

However I am freaking out first because of my bad cramps and lower back pain, second I dont understand this 3+ weeks. I wasnt temping or anything but I am quite regular with my periods and my app put ovulation on 7th September (last cycle started on 25th August) so I am 19DPO. Plus this was not from morning urine, been drinking quite a bit today and tested just at 6.30pm (witheld weeing for 2 hours)
The other non digital test showed positive line though immidiately - even before the control line appearing.
How accurate these tests are, is it possible I ovulated/concieved much earlier? Or this is the expected result on it at 19dpo?

Also about the cramps.. I still feel like my period will turn up at any point. I am so worried and still in shock. (Although over the moon!)
Any wise words are appriciated as I am alone with my BFP for another couple of hours until husband gets home... dont even know how to tell him!

Firstly, CONGRATULATIONS!

Secondly; cramps are completely normal. Very mild lower backache too. All period type symptoms = normal.
Unless the backache gets super painful, your cramping is extreme more on one side than the other, strange pain in your right shoulder, or start bleeding ... relax and try and let it all sink in. You can take Paracetamol for cramps etc but not Ibuprofen - avoid hot bottles too.

Lastly, those digital tests are a nightmare really OP, great for getting a rough estimate but not an exact timescale because ultimately you have no idea exactly when you ovulated, or when you implanted.
You won't know any dates for sure until you have a scan.

Congratulations! The tests predict from conception so if it says 3+ it estimates you are 5+ weeks pregnant. It will be correct and think its pretty impossible to get a false positive as hcg has to be in your system which is the pregnsncy hormone .

Cramps qre normal its your uterus stretching. If u feel worried book an early scan and they can give you a due date also. Heartbeat is normally detected around 6 weeks so if you go after you should get to hear and see it !

Just re read your post and your dates sound similar , my period was 25th and ovulated on 9th on ovulation tests. Prob due samr date or within afew days! My digital read 2-3 weeks yesterday but I have known since 9dpo ! It sounds about right that it would show so strongly as you are now past your period. I have a scan booked for 19th and I'm hoping I'll see a heartbeat then.

Thank you for all your replies 🥰 I think it has sunk in now and I stopped worrying. Also the cramps seems to be less intense & frequent now.

@Scotmum256 wow we are going to be due around the same day :) I think I will try to book an early scan too just to ease my mind. Sorry it is first pregnancy for me, can you get an early scan through NHS or do I have to book privately? I've not registered with the midwife yet as they say you have to be at leat 5 weeks so I will do that tomorrow.

Hey guys I'm sort of in the same position also..

My last period was 21/08/23 I tested positive 17/10, took a clear blue digital which come up 2-3 weeks. Meaning I basically ovulated straight after AF stopped I'm guessing? App says I'm currently 5 weeks 4 days.

I have had no symptoms really apart from being tired and nipples are abit sensitive. Yesterday I started getting period like cramp pains throughout the day and night. I was abit constipated and when I finally went I wiped and was red blood on tissue (from stool) sorry TMI. I tripple checked it was definitely from the back and not the front. I have bled from back previous before this when i have been strained and I have just put it down to me having piles.

Then when I got home from work yesterday I had a wee and wiped and I had this brown spotting on tissue (first picture).

I've woke up today with again quite moderate period cramps that come and go, I went for a wee and wiped and today was more pinky discharge (2nd photo attached). So thinking the worst I put a pad on and fell asleep. Nothing in my pad since and no more pinkish tint atm when I wee. I'm so confused and anxious as to what to think. I also had my bloods done today at GP to check hcg levels, hopefully I find out the results tomorrow. Hoping for the best, my first pregnancy so I'm panicking like crazy :(

Hey @carsty yes all is well, I'm 10weeks pregnant now been for 2 private scans, one last week baby is doing good strong heartbeat 🥰 just waiting for my 12 week nhs scan to come through post now. I spoke to my midwife and she said my pink spotting would of been implantation bleeding 💖 x
