TTC#2 with possible PCOS? Do docs care?

Hello wise ones of Mumsnet. This is half question half vent so apologies in advance.

Right so I was on the pill pretty much from 15-27 non stop - tried other BC and bled constantly - so I didn't know much about my actual cycle until TTC#1. Turns out I have really irregular periods, like sometimes 28 days, sometimes 63 🙃, average is like 36 days but no pattern to this whatsoever. Conceiving DC1 took 8 cycles but over 15 months and they're now 2.

I never went back on BC after DC1. As you can imagine timing is a bit of a nightmare both from the irregular cycle side and the having a toddler side of life, LH tracking is also really unreliable as I sometimes get LH surges and then obvs don't ovulate cause my period is then four weeks away not two. I do temp which is great for confirming ovulation but the algorithm is non existent so not great for planning in advance.

I've been to the docs a few times and have been offered bloods for PCOS which are forever inconclusive, so no diagnosis of anything officially, but it's more the attitude? I get that I don't have any other symptoms so in that sense I'm lucky, but I have been told on multiple occasions it's 'just an inconvenience' and 'some women are just like that' and while I do accept it's not medically urgent, it's still my bloody life, and an added stressful layer of unknown on top of TTC. My doc today also said that actually they may even wait til 18 months to do any further investigations which has probably triggered this spiral.

I swear I'm a nice person really, and I don't want the NHS to stop and focus on my family planning, I just wish I felt a wee bit heard by the docs.

Thank you if you made it to the end 🤣💕

hey, you sound kind of similar to me. i have never been tested but have always thought i've had pcos. i have 2 kids and pregnant with 3rd which i had no difficulties conceiving. my periods for years and years and recently had actually been getting worse along with some hair on my chin (thank god for tweezers!!) occasional hair on my tit also which was a revelation to find haha. id have 28 day cycle then have 50 day cycle. was no consistency. when i tried for my 3rd i tracked ovulation and i ovulated late in my cycle. if you do get periods i believe you will be fine especially as you have a child already. as frustrating as it is i found the premom ovulation tests really good. i was at the point of giving up and then eventually got my peak and it is so easyto miss. they send you a big pack so maybe try doing that and fingers crossed for you op x
