New to this page. Can someone please guide me through all your wonderful abbreviations before i make a twat of myself...

on one of the TTC (i know what that means!!) threads. I'm guessing AF is Aunt Flo?? But EWCM etc? Egg white something? Ta.
Been TTC DC2 since Oct 07, (took 2 yrs for DD1), now 39yrs old later this year, so need to improve our chances ASAP. Have v irregular cycle (can be 28 - 39 days!), so knowing when will ovulate v difficult, so can some wise person give me any quick pointers?? And are the ovulation strips on E Bay any good - can't get my head around how much cheaper they are than the Boots ones - is theer a catch??

Hello Caspercat! Not esp well versed in specifics of ov, prediction but I know lots of people on here are really expert and helpful! While you wait for them to come along -EWCM is eggwhite cervical mucus (indiactor of ovulation) - and there is an acronyms list at the top pf the page (under "useful stuff") which has most abbreviations in! Know what you mean. I couldnt work out the abbreviations and just thought I was being thick. Eventually saw the bit at the top of the page saying "Useful stuff"- acronym list. That will translate some of it.

EWCM=Egg white cervical mucous. So can see why use EWCM!!!

I got some cheap OV sticks from a diagnosyic site recomended by another MNetter as my cycles are way out as still breastfeeding. And they were all over the place even before. Will be interested in answers as have been using them several times a day and now on CD (cycle day) 21 with no FH surge.

PS also going to be 39 later this year
