Smear Test in TWW?

My surgery is badgering me to schedule a smear test. Last one was in July 2021 before I was pregnant, so I don't actually think I'm due until next year, but as I'm TTC #2 at the moment I figured it might not be a bad idea to do it early. Hoping to be heavily pregnant when I am actually due one!

I'm on CD13 today, so unless they can schedule me for the next couple of days (unlikely) I'll be in the TWW. I read that having sex (without lubricants or spermicides) doesn't affect the results, but I'm more concerned about whether poking around my cervix is a good idea in the TWW.

What do we think, ladies? Go ahead or wait?

@deliwoman1 this is going back like 5 years however when I was TTC I was due a smear test and mentioned to the nurse that I was trying and was waiting to come on my period.
She didnt do it, she just said as it was only a two week difference it wouldnt be a massive issue and if i came on to rebook.

This was before covid and stuff though so it may be harder to get an appointment. Just my experience x

@LM88 Thanks, that's really helpful. I think I might try to book in now for after period is due, then cancel if I get a BFP.

I had my smear test 9dpo, I told the nurse I was trying to conceive.
she just said if it’s a confirmed pregnancy then we don’t go it, she asked if I was fine to go ahead. I said yes but I should have said no. The procedure itself was quite rough on the cervix, I believe they use a brush now and I did have a tiny amount of blood after.

i would suggest waiting a week. X
