Ovulation line progression

Hello, currently on day 12 and have been testing since cycle day 9 on clearblue advanced digital. Received a flashing smiley today but my lines haven’t progressed/ gotten darker. My question really is why did I get a flashing smiley even though my lines aren’t progressing? Also, is this normal??? I usually have a 28 day cycle and thought my lines would be getting dark by now. Thanks!

My first time using them this month. I had a flashy smiley face and line looked so faint to me! The very next day I got my first static smiley, and the line was much darker.

My static smiley was CD15 and I had flashing ones on CD13-14

I’ve just come across another forum which says don’t go by what the line says as the clearblue tests don’t work like other ovulation kits. Have you heard this? I’ve been worrying my oestrogen levels are too low because of how faint the line is!

I found that my lines never really showed any progression, they would just be super faint and all of a sudden I’d get a darker one, but still not as dark as the control so I was worried something was wrong. I got my bfp this month so was worrying for nothing!

Was that on the clearblue or another OPK?

I use clearblue, not the flashing smileys but the one with the static smiley that lets you know peak is coming. On it, it says to not pay attention to the line as that doesn't indicate ovulation.

Perhaps it's the same with these ones?
