Hi,

TTC no2

top test yesterday lunch time 10DPO
middle is SMU today 11DPO
bottom this tonight’s test on a 2 hour told

Ive had a chemical before my son, just notice tonight’s isn’t as dark. Yes I know 48 hours HCG but has anyone else has fainter in the evening and then gone on okay?

How early are you testing? If you’re testing on your period date then I’d probably expect all the lines to be almost the same colour.

If you’re testing early then the tests might be lighter as it will be more diluted.

I know it’s really hard but try follow the 48 hour rule and see if there’s any progression there. I have been told by Epu quite a few times that a positive test, no matter how faint or dark is still a positive test.

Boymamaxx · 12/09/2023 21:13

Period due on Friday.

Im just going to try and hold off & see if AF arrives or not. Such a rollercoaster when you test early and kicking myself now, but the symptoms were the same as my first!

Hiddenvoice · 12/09/2023 21:15

It is a rollercoaster and you can really overthink it.
If it helps, I don’t see much difference between your second and third test!

I have my 🤞🤞 for you!

Alloveragain3 · 12/09/2023 21:21

I drove myself mad with testing.
I was using FRERs and would get lighter tests some days, which was so upsetting, so I totally get why you're worried.

Currently 32 weeks pregnant and all is well.

For me, it was really dependent on the time of day and what I'd been drinking.

Boymamaxx · 12/09/2023 21:23

Aww congratulations! So exciting that your nearly at the end 🤩🥰

I did the same with my son, only I’ve read FRER have been discontinued (not actually searched for any) so picked up boots this time and now not sure how reliable they are! I was looking back at my old tests from when I was pregnant and I did 2 a day until 6/7 weeks.. FRER/Clear blue 😳 can’t imagine how much I spent!

butttt I’m going to try wait until Friday now and shall update when I’ve done it!

@Boymamaxx the strips from Boots are great they worked amazing for me when I had LO back in 2021.
I am using internet cheapies at the moment and had some very very faint not visble on the phone pines then tried the Superdrug one early detect and BFN so either I had a chemical this month or I am not far along. Not idea..... Confused at the moment.

Hopinghonestly · 12/09/2023 21:52

They are dark, your periods not due till friday. It looks good.

I have constant chemical..

First one negative even till a day after missed period. Then on week 4 they would get lighter till an odd negative then positive again :(

Usually its strong positive on period due then again gets lighter. Clear blue weeks never gets past 1-2 :(

Doodledeedum · 12/09/2023 21:59

I had this with last pregnancy
Using first results early pregnancy tests throughout and one day I had a weaker line
The next it was back to the same gradient as the day beforehand - baby girl was born!
Try not to worry too much and keep testing ✨

Doodledeedum · 12/09/2023 22:00

*FRER sorry

letitgoh · 12/09/2023 23:06

I found SMU for me was the strongest, so my advice would be if you are going to test every day do it with the same sample each day (I.e FMU/SMU) otherwise you have factors such as how much you've drank affecting the result, so you can't reliably compare a test that's been done with SMU against a test you've only done a 2 hour hold for. I reckon if you test again tomorrow with SMU it'll be darker than all of those today. Best of luck!🤞🏼

Boymamaxx · 13/09/2023 08:19

Mrs ‘I’m not testing for 48 hours’ didn’t do very well…

what do we think of this mornings test, I did SMU to compare to yesterdays SMU (2nd test down)

12 dpo today!
photo with two tests is to show yesterday vs today Smu.

Also, thank you everyone for replying! I know you all understand the need to test and made me feel less crazy!

Don't worry I've absolutely been there (more times than I care to admit!). Looks darker to me! By tomorrow you'll hopefully see an even darker line, but it looks like for today things are moving in the right direction! Pregnancy really is a day by day process.

Mummyme87 · 13/09/2023 10:22

I don’t think that’s a chemical, you can’t be sure but they’re all pretty dark lines. I had a chemical before this pregnancy and they were super light with only one really dark

Boymamaxx · 13/09/2023 10:23

It really is! I’m happy with my 48 hour progress from 10-12dpo and hopefully no AF arrives on Friday so that will be the first hurdle passed!
Did so many 10dpo as didn’t quite believe it!!

It’s all looking good to me! When can You try an early detection test or a digital one? I know I only felt slightly reassured when I seen it say pregnant!

Boymamaxx · 14/09/2023 09:49

ive stuck to doing a cheapie and a boots test and happy with the progress!

top is yesterday
bottom is today

the other photo is the cheapie/boots test today!

I was going to get digi but wait until like next Friday (week past period due) - else I’ll stress myself out 🤣

Oh @Boymamaxx these look amazing!!
I'm in the same boat. DPO 12 today, period was due yesterday!

Below are my "dried out" IC, they do show some progress (they look better when they're fresh), had a CP in the past, but then I had only tested the day I was expecting my period and the positive line was much more faint.

Boymamaxx · 14/09/2023 14:04

Congratulations @Nina7

I think they’re good lines!! I also know how different the dried lines look on the cheapies, so I think that’s really good! Have you done a different brand? I bet it will be so positive!! I did a clear blue one too (because why not?! Hahah) and it was a lovely and positive

it’s so much harder after a chemical isn’t it, you second guess everything!

Oh, such a happy collection of tests!
I haven't done another brand yet, as I'm pretty sure it'll be a positive, it must be, I've actually done two cheapies this morning, both identical... but I'll keep on doing a cheapie every morning. Breasts sore, light period pains for some days but no period, it is happening!!

So many feelings these last few days, from doubting my eyesight with the thinnest line,
then thinking it's probably a chemical, it'll disappear tomorrow,
Now thinking that's it, it's happening! But dreading a CP...
Although again, I think our lines are hopefully past the CP stage, really really hoping for that.

Ah, what a rollercoaster!

End of next week we'll know for sure... Any ideas on how to make time pass more quickly???

Nina7 · 14/09/2023 16:06

I'll do a celebratory good test on DPO 14, first thing in Saturday. 😊

Nina7 · 15/09/2023 08:22

Tried to collate the pictures of the "fresh" cheapies, there seems to be some progress there...

What do they say, it should double every 48h...?

it's hard with different lighting, maybe it's easy to compare them when they're dried.

Boymamaxx · 15/09/2023 08:51

That’s an amazing line progression! And for a cheapie 🤩🤩

OP posts:
Nina7 · 16/09/2023 06:41

I think it's safe to say it's happening. 😯 🤞How are yours @Boymamaxx ?
And what happens now? Midwife appointment? Probably joining the pregnancy thread? Or maybe wait until a week past due period?

Boymamaxx · 16/09/2023 08:34

Eeek! Lovely looking lines @Nina7

here are mine todsay!

we’re away this weekend so I’ll call dr Monday and ask for higher dose of folic acid that I needed with my first and I also had GD so will need to see about testing for that sooner or not etc. I’m sure last time I was told they’d test at 8 weeks - if anyone knows if this is true please let me know haha! I just can’t seem to shift something will go wrong but I’m sure I felt that with my son!

how are you feeling @Nina7 ?

Where i am, you cant book with midwife until 6 weeks :) you just call them at that point then they will book an appointment. GP does the morning sickness meds and things for you if you need them :)
