Coming off the pill

What are your experiences coming off the pill? I've been on it for 13 years and I'm terrified to come off it.

Wondering mostly how long it took to get your period back? Any side effects?

I had horrendously painful periods when I was younger which is why I went on the pill and I am so scared they will go back to being that painful again. Also a bit nervous about not knowing when I will start my period as I don't want accidents at work etc.

I came off Desogestral in early June and had my first period earlier this month. That's not something unusual really for me as it normally does take me a while to get the visit from AF.

It does very much vary from person to person. Some are lucky and don't have to wait too long for their first cycle and others have to wait that while longer.

I stopped desogestrel on the 10th of August had a withdrawal bleed 5 days later and real AF 28days from stopping. I'm currently trying to track ovulation. I've been on it for 9 years with no AF the whole time everyone is different and it depends if you was on the combination or desogestrel.

The symptoms I got was painful nipples a week before AF, bloating and some stomach cramps at first I thought I was pregnant but then a day before AF I got that typical achy stomach so just knew to be prepared and keep my stash in my bag 😬 😂

I had the same symptoms and also thought I was pregnant first cycle!

I came off combined pill 3rd May, had withdrawal bleed 3 days after and then my first natural period on 1st June. I had sensitive nipples, cramps, nausea and fatigue between my withdrawal and first period.
I had been taking breaks at the end of each pack though having a withdrawal bleed every month for the last 2 years, I don't know if that changed anything.
