I've had the bad news I'm having a miscarriage. I'm so utterly devastated I feel like the only thing that will really make me feel better is being pregnant again.

Has anyone had success trying right after a miscarriage? How long did you wait?

I'm so sorry for your loss :(

The medical advice I was given was in 2 parts. Firstly, wait for a week after bleeding has finished to have sex (to prevent infection risk). Secondly, don't start trying again until after you definitely get a negative pregnancy test, so that you can be sure if you get a positive test before your next period you know it's a new pregnancy.

Some medical professionals prefer you to wait until you've had your first proper period post miscarriage, but this is just so that a new pregnancy would be easier to date.

I haven't got a good news story yet, I'm just into my second cycle post second MMC, but hopefully won't be too many more months x

Hi, I'm so sorry to hear about your miscarriage. I had one in March.

I too felt absolute desperation to get pregnant again ASAP. I thought it was the only thing that would make me happy. I was devastated every time AF arrived, 6 months later and I'm still not pregnant.

But one thing I did realise around month 4/5 was that desperate need to get pregnant again was because I hadn't yet processed what had happened. I was trying to erase it somehow, and if I got pregnant again, it would be like it hadn't happened.

With hindsight I'm happy I didn't get pregnant in those first few months. I wouldn't of been ready physically or emotionally to handle it. Only now do I feel ready again.

Please give yourself time to heal, wishing you the best.

Hi, so sorry for your loss.

I miscarried at 11 weeks, I was pregnant again 3 weeks later with my now teenager. She absolutely healed the loss for me.

Hi @magicalmama I'm really sorry for your sad news, it's really awful isnt it. Sending a hug!

I don't have a success story yet but I'm in the same boat. I have 2 dc and trying for dc3 but just had my second miscarriage, (first in December) it started about 3 weeks ago, but now my pregnancy test is almost negative, very very light line and the bleeding stopped a couple of days ago, the midwives told me that after a negative test it's safe to try again.
I am just waiting to see when my cycles return but as well as being desperate to try again, I'm also terrified of going through it again. x

After I’d had the surgical removal for a missed miscarriage, I waited for the bleeding to stop and a week after we tried again, but I think it was too late in my cycle anyway to be successful. I had a period and tried again, and conceived the next month.
She’s just turned 4 ❤
I have since had another miscarriage and decided not to try again.
After the first miscarriage I felt exactly the same and I was healed by conceiving again. Easier said than done but try not to put pressure on yourself.

I’m so sorry for your loss. I had a MC in July. We were advised to wait 1 cycle but felt we would carry on trying and just see what happened. I didn’t fall pregnant on my first cycle ( before I had a period) but was tracking with bbt and OPK’s and I ovulated and had a ‘normal cycle’ . I am now in the TWW on my second cycle.
Its such a difficult time, but trying again straight away has been a great distraction x x

I’m sorry that this has happened to you 💐

I had a m/c at 9 weeks. I had a normal period 4 weeks later and then got pregnant during my next cycle. That one stuck and is 15 now.
