Insanity around testing

Hi there,

I'm 38 and we are in our first month of trying for baby number 2, the first came 17 years ago so a slight age gap, haha!

I recognise its last chance saloon really so we want to get in with it.

I'm currently about 9 or 10DPO (I've used an app which is just using 6m of cycle dates data) and haven't used ovulation testing strips or tracked temp, etc. I'm due AF on the 15th, so in 5 days time.

I started this very chilled, but have fallen into the MN trap and have searched old threads and quite frankly I'm now losing my mind! I've tested already, which was a BFN.

I see so many people getting BFPs (or so I've convinced myself), but actually I sat down and had a word with myself this morning...it's very early to test.

Even if I don't get pregnant this month, I can't do this every month or I'll drive myself mad, it's consumed every waking minute since I started this cycle.

Does anyone have any tips to remain sane during this time? And can anyone reinforce the idea that it's way too early to be testing and I shouldn't bother now or in future.

Thanks 🙏

It's a tough time! I've been pregnant 3 times (2 successful) and each time I fell pregnant on cycle 8! Conceived at ages 29, 30 and 32.

Good luck! I only fell pregnant each when I truly though it was never going to happen.

Hi @YewTree84
The two week wait feels like ages!
I totally hear you about the testing, i bought those Boots Pregnancy Test Strips, good to use and cheaper. I'd test about 12dpo, i know it's difficult but try and hold out. Hope you get your bfp! Xx

Thank you both for your kind words. We get married in a couple of months so don't mind if it doesn't happen immediately, and of course, there's nothing to say it will happen at all!
Fingers crossed eh 😀

@YewTree84 Currently in the midst of my insanity 🤣. The things I've found helped was talking to my dh about it here and there and keeping busy. Easier said than done I know, but planning to arrange more time with friends in the next tww to keep myself occupied so I'm not thinking so much. Fingers crossed for you
