Hey everyone, so ttc baby no.2
Breastfeeding DD , cycles camd back 19 months pp.
1st cycle was 28 days and currently on CD 20.
I took opks from cd 12.

12, 13, 14, 15 all low, not even a sign of a faint line.
Cd 16 faint line
Cd 17 and 18 much much stronger line but not positive
Then Cd 19 not as strong, and 20 very faint!

My question us....it's it possible I didn't ovulate? Or I just missed it? Surely if the lines were getting darker I must of ovulate?

hi! Which tests are you using and what classifies it as positive?

Purely asking because I use Premom and I think a positive is described as being when your test line is darker than the control line, but even my strongest results are never darker than the control line. So, not positive by their standards but positive by mine.

Sounds like day 17 or 18 was your peak? Or maybe best to keep testing incase you’re someone to ovulates later again?

SunnySide19922 · 05/09/2023 22:05

Hi @HashB I'm using one-step which say the control line should be darker.
Good idea to keep testing! I will do that just incase. I did have a bit of pain on cd 18, so maybe thag was ovulation pain?

Yes it seems you ovulated and you just missed the "peak" it can come and go int hours.

I was also Nursing on demand my LO and it messed up my cycles. And as he was nursing at night I gound out that makes it much harder

CatiaR · 05/09/2023 22:07

Definitely keep testing. I ovulated on cd 24 in the end the cycle just gone. AF arrived today

@MixedCouple also raises a really good point. On the days I think I’m expecting ovulation I test twice, (sometimes even 3 times if I’m getting a bit obsessive!)
your actual peak can pass in an hour, so it’s easy to miss.

Hi, I'm also TTC for the second time and have had the same experience (I never get more than a weak second line on opk). DD is 18 months and I've still been feeding her at night...I've managed to stop this week, which was difficult but Im convinced that feeding was stopping us from getting pregnant. My cycle came back at 6 weeks and I do believe I was ovulating but who knows.
Anyway, I found the opks too stressful after a while and now I'm just going with my instincts about when I'm ovulating .

Following with interest and good luck !! Xx

@CatiaR @MixedCouple thanks for your feedback it's good to know I must of ovulated and just missed the peak! I'm just so worried me breastfeeding is effecting ovulation but I only feed her once before bed!
@Boogily good luck! Hoping cutting out the night feeds make a difference for you. They are very stressful but i don't have any other signs at the moment. I'm not even getting any ewcm...not that I notice anyway.
