Chemical pregnancy

Hiya.

I have not had a positive pregnancy test at all but I know I had a very short leuteal phase this month and that I ovulated on about day 16 of my cycle, and my cycle has reduced to 24 days from a more regular 26 days. I got my period last monday and it is continuing. this morning (day 6/7 of my period) I had to run to the bathroom to change the tampon as I was leaking (Sorry if TMI) and I am now wearing a pad and can feel myself bleeding. i.e it's not slowed down but is remaining constant and heavy.

I have been hugely emotional and depressed as well as tired but unable to sleep all this week.

I came off the mini-pill in October so would have thought by now my body would have settled a bit. previosly to going on the mini pill I had a long time (18 months or so) where I didn't take the pill at all and my cycle was around 26 - 7 days and my periods were normal.

I am going to ring the doctors to see if I can get an appointment tomorrow morning but does anyone have any experiences of diagnosed chemical pregnancy or any experience of these symptoms?

I really would appreciate any information, advice or stories of similar symptoms.

I am almost 38.

sorry - forgot to say in the first very long bit that in the first 4 days of my period I had a lot of clots in my blood.

On the plus side, apart from a small amount of lower back pain I haven't, and rarely do, had any significant period pains at all. Though for the last couple of days I have felt a kind of tightening in my abdomen in the mornings when I wake.

thanks.

PS. I know that I need to have this properly and medically diagnosed and I will be booking in to see the doctor. I am also waiting for a scan because I had a swollen lymph gland in my groin which has been there for over a month but seems to be shrinking now. All my blood tests have been good.

Sorry i hav'nt got the answer but just wanted to answer.

I had early/long period last month with clots, we were TTC and this month i hav'nt even had a period (2 weeks late) but tests are neg. I have had period type pains but no sign of AF.

I'm not sure if this was a chemical pg?

Thanks for replying. I wouldn't be upset if it was, it wouldn't surprise me considering the short phase. I guess I neeed reassurance that it's not something else but of course that's no way to diagnose things ... will ask more at the doctors

Hi Beaniesteve. I have had/am having a chemical pregnancy at the moment. Had a pos test last week but felt different yesterday and had a tiny spot of blood so did a test, which was negative. My AF is about to start I think as feeling crampy today. I was assuming that I would eventually get a heavy period and hadn't really thought about going to the doctor's. Is it a good idea to go then? My thinking was that if I hadn't foolishly done a test on the day AF was due, I wouldn't have put myself through this and would have just thought my AF was a week or so late and carried on as normal. I am going to ban pregnancy tests from my house when we try again (although by best friend said I would never stick to that and she is probably right.)

I'm only going to the doctor because along with the swollen lymph gland and a similarly long period about 4 months ago, this current period just seems abnormal. I think a lot of women miscarry without even knowing they are pregnant and as it usually ties in with your period anyway it's not usually a cause for alarm.

I wouldn't be bothering my doctor at all if this wan't quite unusual for me, thought the fact that I am old and getting a bit stressed about not getting pregnant is making me more worried than I should be.

Marjormoo - do you have a short cycle at all?

Oh - forgot. MajorMoo it might be worth you going to your doc seeing as you did get a positive test but have since had a negative test/signs of a period.
