Understanding lh strips

Hey everyone

So I have read a couple of threads about how people get positive lh strips after they've ovulate and then get their bfp shortly after.

I have been doing the ovulation strips, not putting them into an app, last Friday and Saturday I had really dark, almost identical to the control line if not maybe darker line. Friday I also had ewcm, this was about cd18 approx so assumed I ovulated that weekend.

I did a lh test Sunday afternoon, the line was faint and have been doing them on and off since then and still faint.
I did one this evening and its not faint but not what I would class a positive test, the control line is still darker.

I know the answer would be to just get a pregnancy test but I promised myself I'm not going to buy one unless my periods a week late.
I have spare lh tests so just seeing what they turn out like.

My question is, is it uncommon for the test to go so faint after ovulation,, to then get darker again a few days later. (Yesterday was so faint could barely see it).
I'm using any bit of hope to cling onto this could be my month but I know I'll never know until I actually test

Same thing happened to me this month. I was using the CB digital tests and got peak fertility twice in one month. I actually posted in here as I was worried I hadn’t actually ovulated the first time but it turns out I was pregnant. Apparently some people with pcos can get multiple surges so it doesn’t always mean pregnancy but it is possible! I would wait a few days and take an early detection pregnancy test. I did test positive 6 days before AF was due but I know I ovulated early.
