IBS and Pregnancy

I have just found out I have IBS. I was wondering if it's still safe to conceive and be pregnant with IBS and what other people's experiences was

IBS or IBD? With IBS I wouldn't even bother asking the doctor if it's ok to TTC, just avoid food that triggers you where possible.

With IBD though I would speak to my doctor first and aim to get the disease under control, whatever it was. I have a friend with a quite severe IBD and she went on to have several children, but under care of her doctor, especially given what medication she was on to manage the illness.
