UnaVaca · 31/08/2023 20:44

I’m shitting myself

DiaryOfaTTCer · 31/08/2023 21:05

My cheapie opks are showing up as really dark any my bbt has just gone up but clear blue tests are still showing as an empty circle. Anyone else had this problem before?

Riverofhope · 31/08/2023 22:31

@HashB Thank you so much, means a lot especially from a stranger!

@BelBabe Thanks. I have had loads of tests and all normal. Seen a while range of consultants. Just don’t know what to do as feel im running out of time 😞

muffin1996 · 01/09/2023 09:04

@UnaVaca omd congratulations!!! This WAS the month for you! Does that mean you were getting BFNs until your due date?

muffin1996 · 01/09/2023 09:05

How I everyone getting along! AF due tomorrow and I can feel my body prepping for it lol
ready to start again. Thinking of buying some
CB OPK for the next cycle

Skyla01 · 01/09/2023 09:52

@muffin1996 my AF is due today. Thought it was coming but no sign yet. Trying not to think about it- don't want to get my hopes up. I was thinking of using opk next cycle too, to make sure we are DTD at the right time. It's been a few cycles since my mc so want to make sure we are doing all we can. I think I'm too enthusiastic with DTD at the start of fertile window but run out of steam towards the end when it's probably more important to be DTD! I used clear blue when trying for my 1st child and it was expensive but really helpful and easy to use.

Riverofhope · 01/09/2023 10:12

@Skyla01 Sorry to hear about your loss, I’m in the same boat. Can I ask how often you are DTD, I’m wondering if we aren’t trying enough.
I fell pregnant 2 months in a row last year both MC, but now can’t seem to at all…. X

Skyla01 · 01/09/2023 10:15

@Riverofhope really sorry you have been through that twice :( I think I ovulate about cd16/17 although not sure. This month we DTD every 2nd day from cd10 to cd16. I think every 2nd day is fine, although we probably should have done cd18 as well but I ran out of steam. I might use opks going forward to help timing a bit better. How long have you been trying since your last mc?

muffin1996 · 01/09/2023 10:18

@Skyla01 sorry about the mc 🥺xx
i know what you mean. I get my hopes up at the littlest sign of AF being delayed. This is my first month trying. Well I decided I wanted to try towards the later part of my fertile window but I still had hope lol.
Are your periods regular? I’m just thinking if regular period means you always ovulate on a specific cycle day.

Riverofhope · 01/09/2023 10:24

@Skyla01 I usually ovulate around then too, and was going to relax on the testing but then this month got some ovulation pains so did a test and was positive day 13! I think we stop too early maybe too… I’ve had enough by then!
It’s been 10 cycles now, never imagined it would take this long 😞

Skyla01 · 01/09/2023 10:54

@Riverofhope that's really tough. It took over a year to conceive with my first and that was a really hard time. I've been off contraception for almost a year this time too. Unfortunately for some of us it isn't an easy process. Fingers crossed for you soon.

@muffin1996 yeah my cycles are regular. I tracked with opks when TTC before and I ovulated around the same time each month. Are you regular? It might be best to use opks for 2 or 3 months and see if ovulation is happening around the same time. Before I tracked for a few months then stopped as I had the info I needed, and I found using opks a bit stressful.

UnaVaca · 01/09/2023 11:07

@muffin1996 yep! I had done a test the day before period and it was negative and I had cramping and felt so tired I went to bed early.

muffin1996 · 01/09/2023 11:14

@Skyla01 I'm also very regular, well I was before the pill. I've been off the pill for 2 months but it still looks pretty regular. I think I might do that - just use it for a couple of months to check if ovulation day is always the same every month. That helps thank you!

@UnaVaca Oh amazing! Just goes to show sometimes you just gotta wait till your period is due.

Skyla01 · 01/09/2023 11:19

@UnaVaca I was really tired last few nights too, I suspect it's just pms and my period will arrive soon enough. But maybe I will be lucky like you!

@muffin1996 hopefully you will get bfp soon and you won't need to worry to much about opks! I didn't like them very much because I would get up and use them first thing, and so it was like my whole day ( / life) was revolving around TTC. Always on my mind, right from waking up. Which if fine if you're only trying for a few cycles but when it takes longer the stress can get to you.

muffin1996 · 01/09/2023 11:58

@Skyla01 This is what I'm worried about. I don't want to obssess over it too much. I mean I'm alreayd obsessing over DPOs and symptoms but it can get real demotivating if you keep trying. I guess if it's meant to happen then it'll happen. I hope you get your BFP soon as well xx

etaketak1991 · 01/09/2023 13:16

Afternoon guys. I'm 8DPO today and I've had some very light spotting over yesterday and today- started off yellow, now very light brown. Crossing my fingers it's implantation, not AF a week early 🤞🤞

Riverofhope · 01/09/2023 13:51

@etaketak1991 That sounds positive, fingers crossed for you! Have you been trying long?

Molly0328 · 01/09/2023 14:46

So cd 10 for me today, got clear blue opk for the first time, always just used cheapies in the past, can anyone give me any insight to how they work?

Skyla01 · 01/09/2023 15:37

@Molly0328 I think you just use them once a day, with fmu. Flashing smiley as your hormones level start to change (can't remember which ones). But you're looking out for the morning you get a static smiley = LH surge= ovulation within the next 24hrs. That's from what I can remember! Basically if you get a static smiley then definitely try and DTD that day (and the next if you can).

ThesisthenaViva · 01/09/2023 15:40

@Riverofhope
I'm exactly the same. It's such a hard decision to make. ❤️ 💙

Molly0328 · 01/09/2023 16:08

@Skyla01 Thanks, I don’t have the advance one so just blank circle or static smiley,
when I get the static smiley do I just stop testing and count the day afterwards as day of ovulation?
sorry for so many questions!

i used opk cheapies from Amazon with my first, ttc for nearly 2 years before first and now approaching month 10 this time around so wanted to give something new a try

etaketak1991 · 01/09/2023 16:27

@Riverofhope Thank you! I haven't spotted for a while but used to regularly when I had contraception in. I'm on cycle 3 now, early days really. Hoping you get your bfp soon, it looks like you've had a tough journey so far x

Fingerscrossed2023 · 01/09/2023 20:26

Hi team hoping I can jump on this group too. I was ready to TTC baby number 2 in January (as I would have been at my job for at least a year when baby was born if we did get pregnant first time). I went and did a smear just to clear everything up and had to have a LLETZ procedure to remove pre cancerous cells. Couldn’t get the procedure until March and then had an infection and had to wait 3 months to TTC. My periods went from 28 days to 43, 36, 41, 44 days! Not sure if it was related to the Lletz, gynaecologist says not. But so frustrating when you don’t get pregnant and have to wait 6 weeks until you might be pregnant again. Had blood tests and was really low on iron so took iron tests and this cycle I ovulated day 15 (rather than day 30 last cycle). Fingers crossed my cycle is back on track. Anyway sorry for the novel but am on the TWW also! (5dpo!) baby dust to everyone

Skyla01 · 01/09/2023 20:33

@Molly0328 ah ok, so I think you are just waiting for the smiley, and yeah I would stop testing and assume ovulation is the next day. Sorry it's taken so long for you both times. Do you feel more chilled out this time?

@Fingerscrossed2023 that must have been so frustrating having to wait. Sounds like your cycle might have settled down now, which would be great news.

My AF is due today. Hasn't appeared. I did a test when I got home this evening (after only like a 90min wee hold) and there is a really faint line (my tests aren't all that sensitive). Feeling a bit silly now as I don't know what to think! I'll probably test again in the morning and fingers crossed have a clearer line. If AF doesn't turn up after all.... Aargh should have just waited until tomorrow or Sunday morning!
