Did MAP work?

Okay so I had sex the 4th Aug (early hours) and the condom slipped off afterwards without us noticing it was happening. So off I went to the pharmacy to get the MAP the next morning. I was given two tablets due to my weight, absolutely fine but I didn't actually tale them until the afternoon as I got sidetracked so over the 12 hours they advise is best to take them.

Was expecting my period to be a bit late as I was actually due 5th of Aug so day after I had sex but it didn't arrive until the 11th. Nowhere near as heavy as normal but figured it was probably just the MAP making it a weird one.

I didn't even think that it could of been implantation until today so took an Internet cheapie and both tests (take two at a time as I know some can be dodgy and I obsess over it like a lot of us 🤣) have the faintest line, definitely pink, not grey and within the time. I'm assuming the tests are dodgy as it would be very obvious lines by now but will double check first thing in the morning!

Now when would my next period be due if I have a regular cycle usually? Usually starts the same date every month but should I be expecting it on the 5th sept or the 11th now? Will I have another weird cycle because I took it?

Any kind advice welcome, I've got a lot going on at the moment and I know some are very blunt and snappy on here. This isn't my first rodeo 😅

Is your period normally regular or is it erratic? From what you wrote (about when to expect your next period) it sounds like your periods are regular, so I would highly doubt that you got pregnant from that, although it is possible you ovulated late that month right around when you had sex. In any case, if you think you had implantation bleeding on the 11th you would be 17dpo and would expect an obvious bfp. I don't know if you'll have a weird cycle after this one, in the past when I've taken the MAP it normally only resulted in one weird period, not later ones.

Another thing to mention, the pill doesn't always work, especially when you are overweight, even if you take two. If you're concerned about getting pregnant with an unwanted pregnancy and an accident like a condom breaking happens, look into getting the coil fitted, it's much less likely to fail. Monitoring ovulation will also help you with birth control, if you know when you ovulate and are exposed to semen several days after, you know you probably won't need to worry.

Are you concerned about being pregnant or do you want to be? Any time I've needed the MAP I've had to take the pill in the pharmacy in front of the pharmacist, and even if I hadn't, I certainly wouldn't forget to for over 12 hours while they were sat in my pocket...

Normally very regular! I did think it was likely just a weird one and definitely not looking to get pregnant so will need to look into better contraception!

I used to work with the pharmacist so they were happy for me to take it with me, that and the kids were screaming at the time which was the reason I forgot to take it as by the time I got home it was lunchtime so was sorting them out 🙈
