Clear blue ovulation sticks - help!

Hi all
today is CD 8 of a (usually) 27 day cycle. I’ve used the clear blue sticks in line with the instructions and started testing yesterday (CD7) with first urine. Showed as not fertile as expected
this morning, tested and was showing with a flashing smile (high fertility) tested again this afternoon with concentrated urine (held for 3+ hrs) and there is a solid smiley so apparently now I’m in peak fertility. This doesn’t seem right to me as on the other LH tests I don’t have a peak and usually I do see an LH peak at around day 15-17 so I’m really confused. I also thought I would see a flashing smilie for at least 2 days before seeing a peak reading
is it a common error that the peak is that early in the cycle and I’ve been missing my ovulation this whole time? I’m assuming the clear blue are much more accurate but have done another cheapie with the same urine and no peak showing just a faint line.
Anyone with a similar experience?
Will be DTD for the next few days but now I’m afraid I’m missing out completely as AF only finished on CD6!!
thanks for reading :)

According to the instructions you only test with your first urine and not twice a day.

You need to test again tomorrow with your first urine and wait to see what it shows.

It becomes very confusing when more than once a day as you won't know which one to go by.

I only tested once a day . Also everyone has a different peak time or sometimes no peak at all.

ah I just re-read the leaflet - I thought that once you had the flashing smilie you could test again in the same day but looks as if it’s only once a day as you say.
I’ll have to just go off of what I have as I won’t be able to test again this cycle as now I’m in ‘peak’ fertility I can’t test again this cycle the instructions say the smilie stays on the screen for 2 days.
I’m still surprised to see peak fertility after only 1 day of testing but appreciate I’ve messed up by doing 2 in one day!! Doh!

Just re-igniting this found this advice on clear blue Q&A (knew I had seen somewhere you can test more than once!!)
has anyone had this experience seeing high/peak fertility after only 1 day?

The flashing smiley tests for oestrogen which starts rising usually around 4-5 days before ovulation. The static smiley measures LH which has a much shorter spike and tends to hit peak 12-36hrs before ovulation (and usually is a sudden peak, not a gradual increase like oestrogen). As PP has said, you only use the Clearblue ones with FMU and you don't test more than once a day. I'd say this cycle to DTD every other day and then next cycle you can check again once a day :)

@moosey89 thanks it’s just a bit confusing when the other cheap ovulation sticks don’t show anything close to a peak! Appreciate I’ve tested twice in one day but I still wouldn’t have expected to see a peak fertility on CD9
ah well, will try again with these next cycle lesson learnt :)

Yeah potentially it got confused with the 2 tests in one day... I'm not too sure to be honest! Live and learn hey :D
