I had my coil removed last year and then was on the pill for about four months until we were ready to start trying. I was concerned with not using contraception that my periods would be heavy and painful so was prescribed Mefenamic acid and Tranexamic acid. I haven’t really had to use them until today when (TMI WARNING) I’ve been passing clots and been in excruciating pain. I’ve merrily been popping them all day which in fairness has helped but suddenly thought they might effect cycle etc. it was so long ago that I got them, I can’t remember what the doctor said about all that! A google has said that Tranexamic is fine but Mefenamic not so much. Do we think it’s ok that I’ve only really taken them for one day? I’ll stop now obviously but any thoughts/experiences shared v welcome! Thank you!

They won't affect your cycle. Mefanemic Acid (ponstan) is a painkiller that slows down the bleeding and TXA (tranaxemic acid) is a clotting agent. I used to take both for 30 years for heavy periods until they decided to take my womb out 😩
