Ovulation tests - just added stress?

tmi

Yesterday I had clumps of mucus when wiping. I felt like I needed to constantly go to the loo just to wipe! I did a Premom ovulation tests last night then two this morning, one when I dragged my arse out of bed and the other just now. Look at that drop! Should I class this morning's as Peak?!

Background:
I came off the pill in June and I haven't had a period yet but last week / week before I had mucus and bits of brown - presumably old blood. Not loads but just noticeable when wiping.

We have already started the blood tests because I TTC with my ex years ago unsuccessfully (broke up before we started IVF). Because I didn't attend the 'tube dye' test my results were inconclusive. I'm now 36 - heavier than I was back then (but eating much healthier now and on track to losing some timber).

I'm only doing the ovulation tests because I just feel like I'm in limbo. But now I'm also thinking doing these ovulation tests is just adding stress which we all know isn't healthy.

Yes, I'd class yesterday am as your peak, though your tests look a little flooded/wet to me, so maybe leave them for a minute or two longer before snapping?

The ovulation tests are really so you can time sex correctly and know how many DPO you are for testing. If you have other symptoms of ovulation, your cycles are reasonably reliable, and timing sex isn't an issue/you're able to DTD once a day for a couple weeks in the middle of your cycle, then ditch the tests. No stress is best!

Hi deliwoman1 sorry for not responding sooner, it's been a hectic few days!
Thank you I'll note to be a little more patient when taking pictures of the tests in future 😄

I don't have a cycle at the moment but agree when I do and hopefully it's a regular one then I might stop doing the OPKs. I think I'm just finding it stressful at the moment because it's very new to me and I haven't had a period since coming off the pill (early June). Will see what the next few weeks brings and keep everything crossed (barr the legs 🫣)
