Flu like symptoms at 8DPO?!

Hi ladies, just wondering if anyone else has experienced this before.. I’m 8 DPO I spent the whole day completely fine and then around 1am I felt like I have come down with a cold, got a headache, runny stuffy nose and just feeling rough! Is this a normal symptom to feel?

I think I would err on the side of caution and assume you actually have caught something. More likely to be covid than flu given current rates of infection. Take care.

@AussieManque it’s really odd because I’ve woken up this morning completely fine, I just had a wave of feeling groggy like I was unwell last night. Just have a lot of heartburn now it’s so strange

I feel you, we are trying for number 2 and it's been a challenging year with 2 losses, hoping this month is third time lucky!

I had the same thing at 7 DPO yesterday! Today, I feel much better. We’ve been trying for a while too and I’m doing my best not to symptom spot but it’s hard isn’t it? I’m assuming it was just a bit of a cold. Sending you luck for a BFP

@Barbs3116 trying not to symptom spot is soooo hard I always tell myself every cycle I won’t do it but I always end up doing it at every little twinge I get. I’ve never had this cold like symptom before so that’s a new one, have you had this on your other cycles? Hoping this is leading us to our BFP! x

@Gkb90 same for me, I’ve never had this before but I don’t have the other obvious symptoms (that come up on every google search for early pregnancy haha) so just desperately trying not to get my hopes up and hold off testing a while longer. Have you done any tests this month?

@Barbs3116 me too, I don’t have the ‘obvious’ symptoms either. I’ve only had a few twinges on my right side around ovulation time and had a few waves of heartburn but that’s probably due to what I’ve eaten haha. I’m really trying to wait till 12 DPO because I always end up testing early and being disappointed. The TWW gets harder everytime! When are you planning on testing?

Hi @Gkb90 - just wanted to chime in here as I had the exact same thing happen! Terrible cold symptoms (temperature, runny nose, exhaustion) at around 8DPO, BFNs at 10DPO and 11DPO but yesterday BFP at 12DPO! I never feel that poorly usually so I was totally convinced something was up...

@Gkb90 heartburn and ovulation twinges..I can’t say I’ve had those either! TWW is hard, I used to feel quite excited but that’s firmly worn off. I’m the same with testing, I’d rather wait until 12DPO. I’ll be going on holiday this week though, so will probably test a day earlier so I know if it’s a good idea to have a G&T on the flight there!
