I have a question for you
Is your pain on same side always or does it alternate?

I'm going through ivf next month and terrified my left ovary won't respond because I never get pain in that side. Every month I think I only ever ovulate for one side.

Was on clomid for 6 months and had 4 scans an Every time the follicle was on right too. I just don't know if this is normal or if something wrong with my left ovary

Not the same but I only ever felt right sided ovulation pain but conceived the month I ovulated from my left with Clomid.

I think we all tend to over think these things a little when ttc.

Best of luck OP!

I’ve only ever felt pain on right hand side and also definitely not every month, if varies. Also eggs can move between left and right so it’s not the be all and end all. Google it, when someone told me that I didn’t believe them!!

Sorry, plus also to add that it doesn’t alternate each month, it varies.

MuggleMe · 16/08/2023 23:03

I definitely feel it varies for me. But not to worry, not scientific.

I did, but only on rhs

It doesn't alternate but it does vary. There's little to no pattern.

I'm not sure you can read anything into it however.

Its called Mittelschmerz in German, but there is no English word I'm aware of. It means middle pain (ovulation pain). I felt it on the right side many times, but never the left. This is despite scans showing that I had actually ovulated from the left that month!

I wouldn't look into/think about it too much. If you are having IVF- you just want the eggs to mature, ideally on both sides, and this is chemically being induced- so really has no relevance to what you think you have felt previously. I've only felt things on my right, but each time I had IVF, they retrieved eggs from both sides. Best of luck x

I only get it on my left ovary too, and it makes me ant to rip my head off it’s so painful.

both my youngest dc I’m pretty sure conception happened from my right ovary.
