2 solid smileys in one month

Hi. So I had a miscarriage at 13 weeks in May and it has taken a while for my body to get back to normal. We have started TTC again this month and I have been using the CB advanced ovulation kit. I got a solid smiley on day 9 of my cycle which lasted for 3 days and then empty circles. I thought this was quite early so I carried on testing daily since and today I got another solid smiley on day 25 of my cycle. I thought that this was not possible to have two solid smileys in one cycle. I had twinges in my ovaries and mild cramps after the first solid smiley so I assumed I had ovulated. Is it possible to ovulate now so close to my period? Has anyone else experienced this?

People with pcos and some other conditions - clear blue doesn't really work 4

Ive had 'multiple surges - on clear blue b4

Last cycle i used the cheap sticks twice a day - alongside clear blue

The cheap sticks did coralate with one of the 2 clear blue surges

KatieJ345 · 15/08/2023 17:40

Thanks, yeah I had heard of this happening for that reason but as far as I know, I don’t have one of those conditions. I think I will start using the cheap tests too.

Have you ever asked 4 the blood test 4 pco ? - easy to ask 4 on NHS..

Depending on your age _ / period regularity - you could ask 4 a transvaginal scan - incase ovaries etc havent been checked ?

KatieJ345 · 15/08/2023 18:55

No I have never had it checked out as I don’t have any of the symptoms and periods have always been regular until the miscarriage.

Hello! How long are your cycles normally? I only ask because LH tests can show another peak sometimes if you are actually pregnant. Have you done a hcg test just incase? X

KatieJ345 · 15/08/2023 19:27

Hi! @thejollytrolleydolly My cycles are usually 28-30 days so I am assuming my period is in a few days. I was going to try and resist the urge to test early as I wasn’t sure a PG could detect a pregnancy yet. I might give it a couple more days before testing. I was also thinking that maybe my body did not successfully ovulate last time? But this does seem too late to ovulate.

@KatieJ345 do a test tomorrow with your fmu and see as that may be the reason? 🤞🏽🤞🏽 I really hope it is 😊 it should show if you're due on soon. Good luck!! X

KatieJ345 · 15/08/2023 21:33

Thank you for the replies. I couldn’t wait and decided to test and I am actually pregnant! I didn’t realise the ovulation test could pick that up!

@KatieJ345 omg!! Yay!! I knew it really 😊 so happy for you xx

KatieJ345 · 15/08/2023 22:15

@thejollytrolleydolly thank you! Obviously I am happy though it definitely feels different than last time. I think I will be stressed constantly worrying it will end in a miscarriage again. But will try to stay positive, thanks 😊

Congratulations @KatieJ345!

I had a MC three weeks ago today, I was 6 weeks 5 days. I have PCOS and we were TTC for 2 1/2 years.
Before I fell pregnant I had ovulated twice and my periods were getting regular.
I started ovulation testing with CB and the strip tests a week after MC. On the 01st Aug I got a circle on the CB and then from the 02nd-13th Aug I just got a flashing smile and then yesterday and today it's back to a circle but strip tests seem to be positive? But going with CB I haven't peaked. Previous cycles I have maybe had the flashing face for 6 days then got a solid smile. I am so confused, overwhelmed and disheartened by it all as I really just want a baby 😓💔
Just wondered if anyone else had experienced this?

KatieJ345 · 15/08/2023 22:51

@HollyBrwn So sorry for your loss, a MC is such a heartbreaking experience. I remember the doctor telling me after my MC that it can take a few weeks for your body to get back to normal and you may not necessarily ovulate on the first month after. I know my hormones were very messed up for the first two months and it is only during this third month since that they have settled again. Though if you are testing positive on the strip tests then hopefully that is not the case for you!

It probably is my body just getting back into routine but it's just so frustrating 😩 hope you are doing ok! Xx

thejollytrolleydolly · 16/08/2023 11:52

@KatieJ345 I would say it took me 3 cycles to get back to normal after my MMC too.

@HollyBrwn sorry to hear of your loss it's so tough isn't it. I was so desperate to fall pregnant again after my mc but my body just wasn't ready. 3 months later and I'm feeling much better about it. Be kind to yourself and don't worry if your body needs a bit of time to heal. I hope you get your BFP soon xx

HollyBrwn · 16/08/2023 12:26

Thank you @thejollytrolleydolly means a lot. I think when it's just something you want so bad (which we all know the feeling of) it's just so disheartening isn't it 🥺
I just got confused with the ovulation tests as the CB are different from the strip ones.
I will attach a picture and yous can see what yous think.
This is the method I use just to track xx

HollyBrwn · 16/08/2023 18:54

Sorry it wouldn't let me attach it earlier ..

@HollyBrwn sorry to hear about your MC I've had 2 this year and know how awful they are 😔 It looks like you're close to peak but looking at your test times I think you should be aiming for afternoon or evening urine if possible and not morning. As you get closer to Ov day you should try test twice a day. The Premom app is brilliant for uploading your tests to and giving you a clearer idea. Best of luck this cycle 🤞 x

Sez281 · 16/08/2023 19:05

@HollyBrwn attaching my last chart of tests just to give you an idea of how quickly the peak can surge then drop x

HollyBrwn · 16/08/2023 19:07

So sorry to hear this @Sez281 🥺 it really does suck!
Aw really?! I never knew that! I do log it on the Premom app as well. I am just so confused though because the CB are showing circles but I am still showing two strong lines with the strips. I only had the flashing smiles with the CB I never got the static smile for peak xx

HollyBrwn · 16/08/2023 19:12

Wow that is such a difference isn't it! @Sez281 I will try testing at night then? But I'm not sure if I have already peaked? Who bloody knows 😢 I lost all of my data from before on all of my apps because when I MC they all went funny so it's annoying I don't have it to look back on, especially the Premom app when I was logging the tests.
I have attached mine from the app xx

Oh sorry I didn't read post properly and can't help with smileys. I would definitely start testing later in the day though as LH works differently to HCG and readings are clearer in afternoon/eve. Did you get a complete negative HCG after your MC? Sometimes it takes a full "normal" cycle for things to settle down. I know this is difficult with pcos. It took me 2 months to have a normal cycle after my MMC in March 😔

HollyBrwn · 17/08/2023 07:17

That's ok don't worry! @Sez281 well today I tested and this happened ..

But my worry now is, we haven't had sex since Sunday as I was getting the circles on the CB and thought aw feck it! But I know they say 3 days leading up to it gives you more of a chance 😓 suppose I'm just thinking all sorts x

Sez281 · 17/08/2023 08:23

@HollyBrwn there's no harm dtd again today if you're up for it! But yeah they say sperm can live for up to 5 days so try not to stress. I know it's easier said than done but it's also so soon since your mc that your body might need just one cycle to level out back to normal. Fingers crossed for you though xx

Sez281 · 17/08/2023 08:24

Oh and congratulations @KatieJ345, I just went back on your post. That's amazing news 🥰

KatieJ345 · 17/08/2023 08:45

@Sez281 thank you! 😀

@HollyBrwn I had not been having sex in the lead up to the solid smiley this month. We did it on the days when we have the smile and conceived. So I don’t think you should worry!
