Ttc after stillbirth

We recently lost our daughter at almost 25 weeks. Does anyone have any experience of ttc after stillbirth? How long did it take for ovulation to return?

@MrsAC1 I'm so sorry for your loss. My losses were earlier than you, both at 16 weeks so late miscarriages rather than still birth but after the first one I was cleared to try again as soon as I'd had the first period. You will bleed for a few weeks like after a normal birth, I ovulated 2 weeks after finishing the post birth bleed on both occasions. After the second loss I was advised to wait for the results of the post mortem (took 5 months) and then cleared again once they found no cause of death.
I hope you catch again quickly, all I wanted was to be pregnant again, I really wouldn't wish loss on anyone 😔

Sorry for your loss, I had a stillbirth 2 years ago at 36 weeks. I ovulated 2 weeks after the birth and we started trying again straight away. I was 41 then so time was ticking. I've had 6 chemicals in that time and nothing stuck although I've done a test today with clearblue early and there's a faint line so I'm just anxious until it gets darker

I am so so sorry about the loss of your daughter. There are no words that describe how you feel xxx I lost my first son at 23 weeks. It was due to Anencephaly. It picks on people quite randomly, but a lack of folic acid plays a part, and it is not compatible with life. I did not know I was pregnant until late on (I was on the pill), and that's probably why we ended up where we were. The baby was born on 5th September, and after a few dark months, I was pregnant again by the end of January, and had my second son in October. Not sure when ovulation occurred and whether it could be earlier, but the latest possible was 4 months in. I was given ten times the normal folic acid level (pretty harmless, just passes through the body if not needed), and all was fine, we were monitored more though. I went on to have an unexpected daughter a year later to the day, I went on to have two further children (5 and 6 years later). I hope this gives you some small comfort that it might not be long, and what affects one pregnancy does not automatically affect another. Sending you love xx

So sorry for your loss. I had a late miscarriage in June at 20 weeks due to preeclampsia. I'm desperate to try for another baby but in my case need to wait for specialist scans and appointments to make sure I don't have any underlying conditions. It's hard as I'm quite an impatient person.

Plus my blood pressure medication isn't compatible with pregnancy so I would need to switch.

I ovulated a couple of weeks after my loss. If there are no underlying conditions you can try as soon as you are ready.

Hi, I’m so sorry for your loss. I lost my DS at 38 weeks, but had a lot of complications. I was told not to ttc for a while. I had a mc after 3 months and then finally my rainbow baby. So I took 6 months to get a positive pregnancy.
I know I became utterly obsessed with ttc, I know it is very hard trying again. Good luck to you.
