Clomid and twins

Hi,

New to this forum. I'm hoping for some guidance about Clomid and the possibility of conceiving twins.

I've had issues with fertility for over 5 years, just been diagnosed with a medical condition that can't be treated effectively while pregnant due to the nature of my condition.

My first pregnancy was high risk and needed hospitalisation 3 times.

The consultant warned me about the possibility of conceiving twins. I expressed, with my personal medical situation, I would not have an issue having twins and possibly prefer if I could have twins and then I'm done with pregnancies. (Don't worry I've done all the reading on risks and am not taking anything lightly)

Considering my consultant didn't express concerns with my preference of having twins (as long as it's not more than two in his opinion), I would like to ask if anyone has ever tried to conceive twins on Clomid? And what days you took it. I've been told day 2-6, and then scan to see follicle size etc.

Also, my partner is fully aware of this and onboard, as the thought of me going through pregnancy multiple times worries him too.

Any guidance/advice would be appreciated.

Thanks xx

Hi,
I took the first cycle of Clomid and ovulated.
two days before my period was due I started to spotting. I am thinking it’s the start of my period but now 3rd day of spotting and it never got heavier. Took pregnancy test all negative.

do I continue taking Clomid this cycle? Or could I be pregnant?

it is advised to stop Clomid if pregnant as it can cause side effects?

please help

A friend of mine conceived twins on clomid 100mg days 3-7. My sister in law conceived twins while taking some natural supplement called cassava.
I'm not actively trying for twins but I have bought clomid (so can't advise you re-scans cause I don't have a specialist) but I'm taking 100mg this cycle using the theory that if I produce more than 1 egg it improves my chances of 1 of them being successful. But I am aware I could end up with twins.
We bought some 4 months ago and I got pregnant cycle 2 but I had a miscarriage due to fibromyalgia flare up. That was a singleton pregnancy. We have taken a few months break and this is our first month trying again.

Anyone actively trying for twins is an idiot. Having twins makes for much more dangerous pregnancy and birth and makes the early years unremitting hard work.

I wish you all good luck with your TTC but saying you know what you are letting yourselves in for is so far from really understanding what this means and the long term implications of your statement.

Hello! Just wondered how you were all getting on?

I've just started my first course of Clomid. Think I've started a day early as my first AF day was super light, I then took the first tablet on 'day 2' yesterday, then today my AF has properly started. I go in for a scan on Monday so hoping it'll work.

Would love to hear how you guys are doing and hopefully your success stories x

@Thornberry1 clomid was not successful for me. I stopped it after 4 months as I was suffering from alot of womb problems since I'd commenced it.
I'm currently 5 weeks via ivf

Hey there, I totally get where you're coming from – I was in a similar spot not too long ago and ended up taking Clomid myself. I started on day 2 of my cycle and continued through day 6, and then had a scan around day 8 to check on my follicle sizes. I felt really hopeful about the possibility of twins too, and although every case is personal, I found that Clomid really helped kick start my body’s natural rhythm.

One thing I learned along the way is that it’s super important to use only high-quality Clomid (Clomiphene) for the best results. I order mine from a trusted online pharmacy curecarry.com/buy-clomid-uk.html and have been really pleased with the consistency and effects. Just make sure to keep your consultant in the loop and monitor everything closely. Best of luck on your journey! xx
