Seed Cycling - Observations

Hi all. Having seen bits and bobs about SC on here, I thought I'd give it a go and have been at it for 6 months now. Here are my observations. I'd love to hear any one else's thoughts/experiences!

To clarify I've been doing Pumpkin & Flax period-ovulation and Sesame & Sunflower ovulation-period. 1 tbsp each. They are supposed to be ground but that's now become too much effort so I just eat them normally (except flax, which came ground).

Observations:

  1. Still no PFP
  2. No change in cycle length or ovulation day
  3. No change in flow (still heavy)
  4. Seemingly large reduction in period pain!
  5. Polyp (diagnosed) causing some mid-cycle bleeding (probably unrelated)

I'd also note that the calorific intake from the seeds is non-negligible, so makes it a challenge if you are watching your weight.

Very unscientific, obviously due to the huge number of variables and so far the only possible benefit of the seeds has been the lack of period pain, but who knows if that's the seeds or something else!!

This is interesting!

I plan to try this also as been having spotting before my period for the last few months which is new for me.

Worth a try I suppose! Message any updates!

I’ve just started CD1 of cycle 5 for us and have just got everything off Amazon including grinder for £50 so gonna give it a go 👍🏻

I did seed cycling for a few months and found that my periods also got less painful!!

I stopped doing it as I love having linseeds and pumpkin seed flour in my porridge every morning (for the bowel regularity and the taste), but I think next cycle I'll go back to it ☺️

Need to get a grinder! I think I'll see if ground up sesame seeds and sunflower seeds are ok in porridge 😅

This is interesting, thanks for putting your observations down. I was looking to see if seed cycling had thrown anyone’s cycle off. I did it last cycle and doing it again this one but had a randomly shorter cycle last month. 27 days which never happens and not great for me as I already have a short luteal phase. Assuming it was not the seed cycling and just a blip but we’ll see how this cycle goes.

I conceived the month I tried it (could also have been a complete coincidence!).

I started because I also had spotting before my period. I still had spotting the month I conceived so who knows if the seeds did anything.

However, I’m still eating them now as I liked the flavour in my porridge!
