Is this just an indent?

Im 12 dpo and have been testing daily using FMU since 6dpo. I decided I wasn't going to test today because I needed to give myself a break. Well, that lasted until the afternoon when I couldn't help myself and took a test. 🙈 When I went to check it, after the 5 mins, there was a very very very faint line where the 2nd line would be - i'm talking "holding it up to specific lighting and a torch to be able to see it" kind of line. It was barely visible and looked more like a grey indent, so I put it to one side and looked at it about an hour later and it was now gone once dry.

I couldn't put it to the back of my mind so did a 2nd test about 3 hours later, and again the line wasn't immediatly obvious but after about 10 minutes the line showed up, but this time more visible and has stayed once dry. It does look slightly grey though rather than clear pink. The photos below is the 2nd test but it's easier to see in person.

I've fished through the bin and compared it to a few others and none show anthing like this. I have inverted one photo and can still see the line on the invert (I've heard that indents don't glow on inverted pictures? Not sure if that's even true.)

I've been using these tests for a few cycles and have never even been able to see where the 2nd line should be - am I just really unlucky to have 2 indents in the same day?

I've had a few other symptoms but AF is due in a few days so hard to tell the difference. I have been really nauseos all day today and did have mild cramps a few days ago. Ugh I hate the TWW!

I see it!! I don’t think you get indents on those ones? Any amount of HCG in your system would start to react with the test. I bet your next tests are slightly darker again! :)

I have the exact same issue, apart from my AF started yesterday, or so I thought. I then had vvvvvvvvvvvfl (probs line eyes) in yesterday evenings tests, only showing if I edit the contrast so now I can’t get it out of my head.

I’ll post below, BD to you x

I checked again today and there was nothing again. I also had another brand test sitting about so used that and ut showed nothing 😕 I don't think this is my month.

Unusual that you're getting a positive with AF starting - has it been as heavy as your usual period?

@BambiD what kind of urine did you check on? Do you take LH tests? HCG shows up on an LH test so it’s really useful to use one when the line is so faint because if the LH line is darker than it should be at this time of the month then it’s likely you still have HCG in your system!

It’s the same as my normal period and it happened last time I was pregnant. It’s called decidual bleeding where the opposite side of your uterus from where the embryo implanted sheds and you get a normal looking period. The baby can still grow and you can have a healthy pregnancy. It’s caused by a hormone imbalance which I have due to being on the implant for 11 years x

@BambiD It was darker in the morning test (second urine) but still mega faint at 10dpo yesterday. I’ve decided to stop testing for now until my bleeding stops and then see but here’s yesterday mornings pics
