Biggest worry after miscarriage

Hi, I sadly had a miscarriage this week. I was 6 weeks 5 days 😢💔. I have PCOS and wasn't ovulating regularly, but I had finally got my body into a good cycle with my periods and ovulated twice before falling pregnant. We were so happy and on cloud 9 for those weeks I was pregnant.

I know everyone is different, but we aren't waiting until my first period before we start trying again. We are going to be starting to try once I am feeling better.

My biggest worry now is that my cycle goes back to being all over the place and I don't ovulate again 😓.

Has anyone else been in this situation and can give me some hope?

Thanks

I have PCOS and also recently had a MC, but I have regular periods so pretty sure I ovulate but don't track ovulation.

i would say go for it, you are at your most fertile now after your MC. Loads of women get pregnant again straight after their MC it’s really common and there is no reason why this wont happen for you too.

@LittleMrsPretty sorry to hear this has happened to you 😢❤️

I was in a good routine of tracking my ovulation so I'm going to start testing again from tomorrow (Monday) and keep a track of it again and try to remain positive that it will happen soon for us again.

Thank you for your positive words x

As I don’t track ovulation I didnt want to TTC immediately after without knowing my dates, my cycle was 6weeks and am going to start TTC this cycle.

wishing you all the best, was this your first pregnancy?

Aw that's lovely to hear you are going to start trying again ❤️

Yeah, this was our first pregnancy. I done an ovulation test this morning and there was two lines so hoping I'm maybe ovulating quite quickly after MC 🤞🏻 x

@HollyBrwn please make sure you have a negative pregnancy test after your miscarriage before you start trying again - it can take a few weeks for the HCG to go back to 'normal' levels (if you haven't already got a negative test). xx

HollyBrwn · 31/07/2023 11:26

@moosey89 I've had a negative pregnancy test, the test basically went back to being negative straight after my MC 😢
I also got my bloods taken on the Tuesday & Thursday to check my HCG levels and they had dropped xx

@HollyBrwn that's really good news - I'm 10 days post surgical management and still a clear positive, urgh. Last time it took me somewhere between 2-3 weeks to go to negative but I was still hoping it would be sooner this time round!

If it helps, after my first miscarriage my cycles were back to normal within 2 periods (and they were only a little bit out for those first couple, like a couple of days longer and slightly heavier periods).x

@moosey89 aw no way, I'm sorry to hear that 😓 that must be frustrating for you.

Aw were they? That's good to hear. I suppose everyone's bodies are so different aren't they? The midwife phoned me back today to check in and she said that after a MC you are more likely to have higher fertile levels.

I'm just keeping my fingers crossed xx

I'm really sorry for your loss. I had a miscarriage at 8 weeks in March and I felt the same, wanted to try again ASAP. I fell pregnant on second ovulation after mc, I'm now 10 weeks pregnant.

I wanted to reply because I was in a similar situation, worked hard to regulate my (suspected pcos) irregular cycles then they did go funny again after mc. I was really stressed that I was having a long and confusing cycle.
But I got pregnant anyway! I tracked Lh and bbt every day and I caught ovulation on cycle day 39. So that's my only advice really, track everything and irregular cycles don't necessarily have to be a barrier. I know exactly how frustrating it can be though.

@Hankthehonk sorry to hear you also went through the heartbreak of a MC 💔

That is so positive to hear, thank you! I'm going to go back and start tracking my ovulation again and have the positive mindset I had.

I hope you are keeping well! ❤️
