Miscarriage - Ovulation & PG test

I had a 2nd trimester miscarriage on 4th July.

My bleeding stopped about a week ago. I decided to try a ovulation test today as my discharge has increased and I've been feeling ovulation like (a bit crampy and bloated for me )

I had a random IC pregnancy test in the drawer too so just done that too. Wanted to make sure my HGC levels had returned to normal I guess.

But both tests have come back with two lines. The ovulation test shows a faint second line so either just before or after ovulation I assume but the pregnancy test is a obvious second line albeit a faint one (but still pink too) It very like the positive pregnancy tests I've had with my babies.

Could it be my HGC levels are still going down, but surely then I wouldn't be ovulating? Anyone had similar?

I have had sex since but it's been protected (stupidly not for the first few minutes the first time, too keen maybe and simply forget having not needed protection for 4 months prior.)

@OnNaturesCourse i had a MMC in June (surgery 22/06) and I ended up getting a positive 3 weeks after but unfortunately it was retained tissue. They did say its best to wait 3 weeks after then do a test because your HCG levels should of gone below 5 by then, not sure if this is different with a natural MC or wether I had to do it due to surgery?

I’ve seen a few posts on here of women who still have high HCG and it triggers a positive LH test too.

sorry your going through this! It’s by far the worst feeling in the world.

I had a induction and birth due to no HB at nearly 17 weeks.

I wasn't told to test. I had the doctor manually remove retained tissue at the time.

LH tests have a faint line all cycle so wouldn’t necessarily mean you’re about to ovulate or just ovulated. The pregnancy test could be HCG still from before as a second trimester loss could take longer for the HCG to go completely.

I agree with @allgoodthings84 - you can get a lighter line on ovulation tests at any stage, the only thing that really matters with ovulation tests is when it goes darker than the control line. The HCG is probably still there from your pregnancy - last miscarriage I had it took 2-3 weeks to get a negative test. Currently I am 8 days post miscarriage surgery with my second first trimester loss (both at about 10-11 weeks) and still have a clear positive. Bleeding stopped yesterday.

Thanks all.

Previously my ovulation tests are always clear negative with no second lines in the first two weeks of my cycle. But I guess this could be the new norm as my body recovers.

So sorry for your loss. My HCG was positive for about 5 weeks following my MMC surgery 💐
