Help! Pregnant or delayed period

Hi all,

So I have been TTC for many years. No pregnancy as of yet.
I am currently on CD35 of an average CD28 cycle. I am someone who is always on time.
I am currently 6 days late. I have been having brown discharge/spotting for 4 days.
I do tend to have brown discharge a day or 2 before my full flow anyways so on day 2 of spotting I saw some pinkish blood and put a pad on. It has been 2 more days of brown spotting.
I don’t feel unwell or nauseous or anything. I have at odd times felt twinges and cramps as thought it’s a period.
I don’t want to take a pregnancy test tbh, i feel superstitious for some reason and doubtful.
any ideas?

I feel as pangs like a period though on and off.
have you tested?

Because i I have pcos & 4 a whole host of other reasons - i believe im only 8 ish days post ovulation
Tests are neg so far but still 5 - 6 days left

@worldwidetravel2017 8DPO is still early days so far. I’ve heard that HCG levels can be low sometimes.
i feel I am still spotting brownish and pinkish. Don’t know if I’ll see AF tomorrow.

The only way to know for sure is to take the test. Totally get the reluctance, I was wary after a long time spent ttc.

I know it’s hard but it might be best just to take a test to reassure yourself. I had a period lately that was just all brown and felt like it didn’t come to anything. I panicked about it and what it would mean for ttc but the next month was back to normal!

@elenacampana thanks Elena. I will convince myself to test tomorrow if AF doesn’t show.

@Hiddenvoice this is what I’ve been concerned about. I kept wondering if this brown spotting is my period. It is worrying if it doesn’t come to anything it just feels so bizarre. Did you ever see a GP about it?

No I didn’t see the gp, I know from past experience that they usually say to see how it goes. I decided to wait and see if the next one would be different too but it wasn’t, they went back to normal. I realised that I had been unwell and pretty stressed the month of the weird period so put it down to that.
