38 day cycle!!

I've always been fairly regular 28 day cycle -been ttc for just over a year so being late on my period is just adding to the tension this month!

I've taken tests every day since missed period but all BFN. Ovulation test strips indicated I didn't ovulate until day 18 this month but even taking this into account I'm very very late!

Help! Has this happened to anyone else? I'm 99.9% sure I'm not pregnant as it would definitely show by now? I had AF type symptoms around when I was due on but nothing really since.

I just want it to arrive now so we can get started with cycle 14!

Hi @strugglingtottc yes this happened to me. I’m nearly 32, and TTC baby2. We’re on cycle 9.

I have always had 27 day cycles, always. Then suddenly I had a 35 day, obviously very disappointing when AF arrived.

I started tracking ovulation, and when I had another 35 day cycle it was due to late ovulation. I had a peak, though it was ovulation, but then I carried on tracking LH and lo and behold, a much stronger peak came days later, which explained the late AF. Did you continue to track LH after your peak? Maybe it wasn’t your real peak? 🤷🏼‍♀️ It’s so hard isn’t it, sorry if I’m not helping!

I have put it down to all the supplements I’ve added to my diet. Or possibly it’s my age. I’ve ordered fertility tests online for me and DH, and if we haven’t conceived by Dec, we’ll contact the dr.

I stopped tracking after the peak so perhaps I did have a second high peak I was more annoyed at the late ovulation and needing to use so many Opks that I stopped as soon as it was positive 🤦‍♀️. I've ordered a thermometer to try and temp this month to see if I do get two surges and perhaps that's why it's taking so long as we dtd a lot during the "window" but then perhaps my actual window is a lot later when we are dtd much less.

It's all a bit of a headache this ttc nonsense isn't it!

We were doing SMEP this month too. when the second peak came we had to go back to the beginning and start again! Two SMEPs is bloody hard work 😂

I just bought a thermometer too, just started tracking BBT, but guess what… that’s confusing too 😆😅 How anyone actually conceives is beyond me! Although saying that, we conceived DD1 when I got my dates wrong and only DTD once that whole month!
