My first time posting about this but looking for any advice and hope please. I’ve been ttc for 8 months with no success and am now 41. Trying to be as healthy as I can, taking conception vitamins and cut back on alcohol. I track ovulation but every month disappointed. Dpo 9 today and was feeling slightly hopeful but bfn. Please share you’re successes to keep my hopes up x

I am just sharing my own experience and am not saying it will help you but we were struggling to conceive for years and I was 40 at the time. I started 16:8 intermittent fasting to reset my body and I fell pregnant 6 weeks later. I believe it helped me. I got the idea from my friend abroad who started fasting and got pregnant next month.

Sorry to jump in with no advice, but I just wanted to say, PP means well, but her advice may be very unsuitable for you. If your BMI is already low, or you have blood sugar issues, anaemia etc, then fasting could be very damaging for your reproductive health. Have a look at studies on fasting and conception, there is a negative correlation.

Personally, if I were you, I would go and get tests done, and get the ball rolling for fertility treatment. I’m also 8 months in, and I’m 32yo. I’ll be getting fertility treatment started in the new year if no bfp.

Best of luck to you x

@FoodFann I am 33 and 2 years in. I too will be seeing GP in New year if no BFP. When I say two years I mean just not using protections. Sometimes it has has been around ovulation times sometimes not so now going all in with ovulation tests ect to try and fall. @Jaybantumi I'm sorry I don't have any positive story but I hope you get your positive. I never thought it would be this hard to conceive.

I read the book it starts with the egg. I take supplements from that. I was getting pregnant every 6 months-ish but having miscarriages. I am now doing ivf to try and maximise finding a good quality one. I have just found out I am pregnant again now post frozen transfer.
I have a child already who I conceived first go at 35 so I had to pay for my ivf but I wouldn't rule out ivf OP if you've been trying 8 months at 41. It's much harder over 40. Fingers crossed for you x
