What are the odds of having a boy after 2 dds?

Anyone know? One website I found said 46.6%.

Before you all go bonkers, I would love another dd too, but a ds would also be fun for a change.

I am already pregnant so no need for info on how to make a boy!

I would've thought 50/50. A bit like the lottery. Either you win or you don't. Good luck

Hiya, 2 people that I know have 2 dd's then a son and one has 3 dd's then an ooopsie son. I would also like a boy for a change but as I dont think I could realisticly cope with another girl I wont be trying. Good luck

gWEll I hear more boys than girls are born anyway. 51% boys, 49% girl babies born in world each year.

Anecdotally, there are loads of people on here with GGG and also loads with GGB.

I think soupdragon has mentioned in the past some sort of genetic anomaly in some families which does make them more likely to have more of the same but otherwise I would think 50-50 each time too.

(That's helpful isn't it?)

(I have GGBB btw but would have liked a 3rd girl)

I will let you know on Saturday we are having a scan to find out what DB3 is

I swing from a little trio of DDs brilliant to a little boy for a change brilliant!

CarGirl · 26/02/2008 13:41

I would say 46% at the most......... I know after having 3 girls the chances of a boy were only about 15% and it was another girl [girl] although I would have probably chosen to have another girl anyway!

hi, i have 2 ds and am now pg with a dd. just pot luck, me thinks.

Though alot of mums at school who have 3 or 4 dc have all the same sex.

aGalChangedHerName · 26/02/2008 13:42

Well i have 2ds's then 2 dd's and my db had 2 dd's then 2ds's. Haven't a clue what the odds are tho

WendyWeber · 26/02/2008 13:45

Oh, and another factor is that some families will keep trying until they get the opposite, and then stop, which skews the statistics - if they carried on, after getting their opposite, they might then have more opposites (iyswim)

Can anyone direct me to any actual statistics on family gender balance though. I love a bit of number crunching, just for fun of course.

My mum's friend has eight dc, seven girls and one boy, the boy being number 6.

Most of the dc have their own families now and from what I recall, they all have at least one of each sex.

where'd you find out the % chance of what you'll have? Love a link.

My gynaechologist told me it's roughly 50/50 for 1st 2, but if both of those are the same, the odds are FAR FAR higher to have more of the same. I now have 3 ds.

But am pg with no 4. so would be interested to look at your links..?
