Hellooooo....

I read a few comments on here where people have said the first day of your period should only be counted from when it's in full flow rather than just spotting.

Well.... What is your definition of spotting? My Period just seems to start in full flow with day one two and three being particularly heave and so I am not sure what people mean by spotting.

I am also getting a lot of clots and very heavy flow. On the other hand I barely get any cramps or discomfort.

Hi Beaniesteve - I think that spotting is when there is blood when you wipe but not enough to need to use a tampon or towel. I tend to get one or two days of spotting before my period starts properly, but am sure not everyone has this.

I certainly don't get that ...

It starts and it flows and at the moment it seems like it will never stop.

Hi beaniesteve

Like you, my period starts straight away and really heavy, lots of clots and no pain or cramps, if the blood is bright red then you should class this as day one. If you haven't seen a doctor already I would recommend you see one about the heaviness and clots as this might mean that you have a fibroid or polyp, which are very common. I hope I'm not scaring you, that's not my intention, but you have exactly the same period symptoms as me and I have both a fibroid and polyp.

Hiya

have been to the docs today and she's chasing up a scan she put me down for in Jan.

Curlysue do you have no pain at all? I was hoping that a lack of pain was a good sign?

Did some researcha bout Noriday mini-pill (Which I was on for about 8 months) and apparently in rare cases it can contribute towards cysts developing.

oh and what is your cycle like? Do you have to have treatment?
