dd is only 18mths so 2nd dc not planned at the minute, but had a feeling the last couple of days so did a test this morning and although feint there was definately a line after 3 mins (which is how long it said to wait)

My worry is I havent taken any folic acid and have had several glasses of wine over the past few weeks!!! I was well prepared with my first so this is worrying me!

Do I need to worry, am I definately pregnant even???

it sounds like you are definitely pregnant, fairly early on if the line was weak.

Go and buy some folic acid today and stop worrying about the alcohol you drank - many women have done the same (and far worse!) with no effect on the baby!

Congratulations!

Congratulations.

You do not need to worry, and you'll have two children who will be good friends

congrats- I wouldn't worry about to much, most women have had a drink beofre they have realised they are pregnanat.

Congratulations
I think your experience is really common - if you search the archives you'll find lots of these threads. Dd was planned for one night only so I was in exactly the same boat too.

Buy some folic acid & start taking - don't worry about the booze.

Nice age gap, btw

mum2becks · 26/02/2008 11:23

thanks everyone you are putting my mind at rest, and yes suppose the age gap will be quite nice eventually was just thinking about now and how dd is still only a 'baby' to me!

I had some MASSIVE nights out in the very early stages of pregnancy, my obs consultant told me that in the first six weeks there is very little of our blood transferring to the embryo so it's not a worry. Consistent use of alcohol in pregnancy is the dangerous thing so please don't worry! Also, plenty of people don't find out until later in pregnancy so don't take folic acid for the beginning, just start taking it now.

Congratulations!

Ah, but remember there are still 8 mths (or so?) til the baby is born - & think how much your dd has changed/grown up in the last 8 mths ... she'll be a different child

And she will look HUGE when the new babe comes along

I didn't know I was pregnant until I was about 14 weeks (due to having PCOS absent periods were not unusual for me) during which time I celebrated my birthday (on about three seperate occasions!) and also attended a wedding. I wasn't taking folic acid either.

DD is perfectly fine - infact at 15 months I have lost count of the number of words she says.

Do the right things now, but don't worry about what you did previously when you didn't know.
