High prolactin levels?

I’ve been referred for fertility treatment (same sex couple, so would be donor sperm) and as part of the referral my GP ordered some blood tests for hormones and thyroid. Everything came back normal apart from my prolactin which was raised at 627, I had the same tests two years ago as they suspected pcos (pcos was ruled out because hormones were normal and so was ultrasound) and it was only 329, GP wants to repeat the test in a month.

Does anyone have any experience of this? I’ve been feeling really really tired for the past few weeks, but put it down to me having post viral fatigue as I had covid, I’m on the progesterone only pill for endometriosis and have been bleeding almost non stop for a year so thought it might also be due to that, but I read progesterone lowers prolactin? No other medication changes, not feeling particularly stressed either.

Had an MRI late last year because I keep going dizzy and getting vertigo and that was normal, no tumours seen, got diagnosed with Ménière’s.

I’m worried this might affect my chances of conceiving or could be because of something else? Not had much luck with my health over the past few years so hoping to have no other issues!

Hi, I also suffer with high prolactin. Been trying to conceive for nearly 2 years now and they've said my levels were so high over 2000 that's why I haven't conceived yet. Had MRI and started treatment back in March. Consultant put me on Cabergoline.. had levels checked after 3 months and my levels are back down to normal. I'm still carrying non with the cabergoline and just a waiting game. It's very easy to get levels back down with medication x

Hi lovely. I'd wait until you get your next set of bloods done at the clinic to assess it. Try not to worry yourself. If your prolactin does come back high again there's medication .
My prolactin was high ( from October bloods) so the fertility the clinic did my bloods again to check it in February and they were in normal range again . I wasnt aware during that time they were elevated so I'm assuming they can return to normal range on their own. Perhaps depending on the cause
