Hi I'm 23 and been TTC for 13 months. I started using the Easy @ Home OPK's about 6 months ago now and noticed I didn't get a LH surge most months. Last month I got a surge of up to 0.72 but no higher

Yesterday I got a LH surge of 0.82 which is the highest I have got since I started taking OPK's so I got excited. It dipped this morning which I was expecting but this afternoon it has rose again? Not as high as my previous reading but high nonetheless. Can someone tell me if I got a true surge and wether I have ovulated? I'm really confused and I'm really hoping I have ovulated because to me the lines look the same in colour but then why would it dip and rise again? Help!

If CD14 was your peak then you should ovulate between 12-24 after that.

I think you’re taking your first test too early too, you should test at between 10 and 12 and then again between 4 and 6pm if you’re doing a second test.

OPKs won’t tell you if you’re ovulating, if you want to confirm ovulation you should try temping as well.

Possibly yeah, I take my test fairly early because I go to work for 8:30 and I don't really have the ability to test whilst there without all my co-workers finding out I'm TTC 🤣 I know it's around 12-24 hours after but I'm just confused about the second rise 😭 I think I'm getting too over excited that I have a LH surge of some kind. Temping confuses me as well I've watched some videos but I don't really understand how it works and when to test. Is there a guide you would recommend?

Temping you will see people say bbt. Buy a thermometer that reads to 2 decimal places. I always took my temperature at ~6am in the morning (never varied more than 20minutes each side to be consistent) before drinking water or getting out of bed for the toilet. It’s really good at showing ovulation occurred. I used fertility friend app to enter the temperatures. Highly recommend temping to confirm ovulation occurred each cycle.

Don’t worry about rises, you’re looking for peaks. To be honest I find using OPKs without temping difficult as you never really know what’s going on.

Exactly as @Blue2020 says. Get a BBT thermometer. Take your temperature in the morning as soon as you wake and plug it into an app. I used Fertility Friend too and found it excellent and there’s lots of tutorials on there. It’s not complicated, you just need to take your temperature as soon as you open your eyes and before you move and at the same time every morning.

You can take OPKs at work by taking the packet to the bathroom. Catch some of your wee in the foil packet and dip your stick.

I’d also recommend SMEP, gives you a better shot at catching the egg if you’re not sure when you’re ovulating.
