BBT after peak OPK advice

Hi, I was wondering if someone could give me some advice on my BBT chart. I got a positive OPK CD40 and it stayed high until CD42. My BBT dipped CD43 and then I woke up this morning later than usual so did BBT adjuster to get 36.4 but still not had my 3 days of high temps. Am I out this month? It's been 4 days.....

To give context, I am currently abroad on holiday and wondered if that could impact temp readings or am I giving myself false hope :(

Would appreciate HONEST thoughts even if it is hard to take.

Thanks!

Holidays can affect your bbt in a couple of ways I guess. First, if you're in a different time zone (either direction), the jet lag will mess things up for a bit. Second, is if you're sleeping in later than you usually would. Third, is if you're having a glass of wine or two in the evening, alcohol can also alter your bbt.

As you're away I wouldn't count you out. There are a lot of things that could be messing with your temp. I personally would assume that I have ovulated and act accordingly and wait to see if AF shows up. There's nothing else you can do, and stressing about this will mean you won't enjoy your holidays as much. If I were you I would go out for a nice dinner and have a tasty glass of wine and try to unwind and enjoy my holidays xx

One other thing that could be messing with bbt while on hols is air conditioning everywhere. If you're somewhere hot and the temperature of the room is different to home, that could also change things.

@mushroomushroom thank you for getting back to me! I'm trying to be calm and relaxed just sad as we've been TTC for a long time and my cycles are so long. If it doesn't happen this time I won't ovulate again until late august/early September :(

Thank you again

:( TTC is so crap isn't it, there really are so many ways to be anxious about it. I think if you're DTD regularly (and hopefully holiday helps with making it more fun 😉) then that's all you can reasonably do at the moment. Do you know why your cycles are long? It might give you peace of mind to make an appointment with the doctor when you're back, perhaps there are ways to stimulate ovulation so it defiantly occurs or at least occurs more regularly.

In the meantime though i would really recommend trying to enjoy your holiday, because no matter what it's out of your hands at the moment. Plus, please don't forget there are so many things that could be affecting your bbt while away. I traveled earlier this year and i had to throw out the results for the month as the values were so out of whack for the two weeks i was away and after i got back!

@mushroomushroom thank you so much I really appreciate that! You're right I should be so much more relaxed I just hate that it hasn't happened yet! I have been to the doctors and they've ruled out PCOS with bloods and a scan so next thing is SA for partner for referral!

Weirdly enough my BBT thermometer has died this morning so I guess it's now out of my hands anyway! Maybe that's a good thing so I don't obsess over it. Yes being away has definitely helped with DTD 🙈

Thank you for helping me rationalise things! I really appreciate it
