No ovulation symptoms?

Hi everyone, curious to know about others' experiences!

I'm preparing to TTC hopefully later this year, and have had two normal seeming cycles since coming off the pill - 32 days and then 27 days. I'm hoping it settles even more as time goes on, but feeling quite positive so far?

Anyway, what I haven't experienced are any obvious signs of ovulation. I'm hoping it is happening, but no signs of ewcm, no particular spike in s.drive, and ovary twinges throughout cycle rather than specific times.

(Worth saying I'll use tracking strips etc. if/when TTC starts to get serious...)

But for now, interested to know about others' ovulation experiences and symptoms, or lack of? Thanks!

Clear blue ovulation is good

Personally i get extra high sex drive immediately b4 period - immediately after

Ovulation - my clear blue has been on high fertility a lot lately - was high again this am...

Mucus is a way to tell

And tracking your base temp twice every day

U can get a 21 day progesterone test from NHS gp to check if you ovulated that cycle ...

27 days and 32 are good / normal cycle lengths
.regular periods - good sign

My gp asked me to track ovulation for 30 days

I hope / think i ovulate day 24 - 26 ish due to assumed / likely pcos
.had 2 scans last week

Did progesterone test - said i hadn't ovulated yet that cycle - not by day 21 22 then

Thank you @worldwidetravel2017, can I ask what length your cycles are usually?

I also only really noticed higher drive the two days before my period arrived which I thought wasn't very useful 😆

Re the ovulation test from gp, do you have to have been trying for a certain amount of time? Or is it something you can just request any time?

Hoping I get some more obvious symptoms this cycle that more mirror what other people have been saying about theirs.

And good luck with your scan results too

The scans found one small fibroid

You can say you are concerned regarding if you are ovulating and ask 4 21day progesterone test

If your cycles are regular // consistent & periods regular - its good cuz that blood test 4 most ppl should be on day 21 of cycle

If theres any way u have pcos etc.. it might be u need the test later in cycle

Superdrug offer them privately at 40 gbp ish - but NHS will do one if u ask

I don’t really notice any signs either. Never have. I have had 2 babies previously and another pregnancy.
Now I’m looking more closely, I still don’t really. Last month I had higher sex drive around the date the app says definitely and slightly this month. Only noticed ewcm one evening around that time but thinking should notice this more than one evening. Tests aren’t even confirming it - stuck on flashing smiley for days so given up now. I’m assuming it may not actually be happening.

@skyerojo I wasn't sure if I was ovulating so started tracking BBT earlier this year and really recommend it! I wasn't TTC at the time, just wanted to see if I was ovulating ready for when we started trying. I started using an app called groove and really recommend their website which has loads of info pages about fertility signs with photos of different types of cervical mucous. It's helped me see that I do ovulate each month and now I really recognise when it's going to happen based on EWCM. I also get ovulation pain most months. Groove also have sample cycle charts which show you what it looks like if you have PCOS or anovulatory cycle etc which I found really helpful https://www.readytogroove.com/blog/2016/07/09/decipher-your-cycle-with-these-sample-groove-charts/

@worldwidetravel2017 it might be that you ovulate later and have a short luteal phase. I seem to ovulate around day 18/19 so a 21 day progesterone would definitely be too early for me. Have you been tracking temps? When do they suggest you ovulate?

@Isitthathardtobekind how many times a day are you doing the the OPKs? It's such a quick peak it can be easy to miss so testing twice a day is best. I've not managed to catch the peak every month despite raised temps then confirming ovulation

Decipher your cycle with these sample Groove charts — Groove

Deciphering your cycles isn't always easy — everyone's body is a little different. But once you know what to look out for, collecting data about your periods can give you a powerful look into the health of your hormones, your reproductive system, and y...

@Lily124 thanks. I was only doing once a day as this month I started using Clear Blue but it’s expensive. It got stuck on flashing smileys for days and days so I also started using cheap ones as that’s what I’ve been used to looking at the last few months, but did them at the same time. The cheap ones darkened a bit but then reduced right down again so I gave up yesterday. I wasn’t sure if it was possible to miss it on those in the same way and that it should always hit the static.
