TTC after Ectopic Expectant Management

I am just at the end of expectant management with my first ectopic pregnancy in my right tube.
A scan a couple a few days ago showed a tiny 0.4mm group cells leftover (apparently normal) and hopefully this will absorb before we look to TTC.

I am terrified of this happening again, I have a beautiful little boy who’s nearly 2 but have experienced tragic loss before him of my first son full term 😢

Any tips, advice on TTC again? Dr has said as soon as HCG is back to normal we can start which is good, but again terrifying!
HCG this week is down to 3.

Thank you!

Hi there, how did this turn out for you OP?
Ive just got pregnant first time trying and it’s ectopic. Doing expectant management - waiting to have my first set of blood tests on Monday to see if they’re going down.
I’m worried it will happen again in the same tube if I don’t have surgery. How are you faring now?

Hello,
Sorry to hear you’re going through this 😞 how are you doing? I was also the same and suffered quite a bit of pain on an off especially when ovulating from that side after - kept telling my husband I should have had the surgery.

However… we started trying after about 3 or so months, I fell pregnant at the end of November - EPU have been amazing. They did serial HCGs and performed two scans before 6 weeks. The first scan confirmed I ovulated from the same side as my ectopic and that there looked to be some cells in the right place in my uterus, a scan a week later showed a sac and yolk in the right place - confined not ectopic!
I found there’s not a lot of information out there on expectant management, so I hope this gives you a bit of hope that it can work after x

Hi MS3,
Thank you so much for your response. I'm so happy to hear of your wonderful news! What a lovely, reassuring time for you and your husband after the traumatic experience and drawn out uncertainty of an ectopic. There seems to be little directional data and the waiting to see trajectory is very unnerving so all responses on this forum and updates are great. Lovely to hear the positive stories.
Wish you continued happiness with the rest of your pregnancy! It sounds like you're in very capable hands with your EPU. x

Sorry you're in this position. I had surgery immediately after diagnosis so can't comment on the expectant management process, but do join us if you want moral support. Some of the others on the thread might know more about expectant management too x

Hi @YellowZ - thank you so much! It's my first month TTC and getting pregnant so it's all been bit of a whirlwind. Being in 37, nearly 38, very affair that my fertility is in it's winter season and everything feels more pressured now. Particularly as not out of the woods myself with the EP. Dear me, what women go through! Will going the group now. Thanks lovely x
