Elevated FSH - panicking!

32 and on ttc#1 cycle 6, my periods are irregular (range from 28-31 days with the odd 35-40 day cycle!)

had routine gp bloods due to irregular periods, actually had them done on cd6 not cd 2/3, returned as normal but I’ve since checked the results and my FSH was 9.4, LH 5.4. I’ve researched and this seems really high for FSH so now panicking about ovarian reserve 😢 I’m going to get private full bloods done next cycle but has anyone had similar results and it been ok?

Also wondering if it was done too late in cycle, I was v stressed that month due to a work situation so wondering if that could have had an effect.

Was feeling positive this cycle and that has just floored me… can’t believe GP reported as normal considering my age. Don’t know whether to bite the bullet for private fertility treatment now.

Hi, I don't know if you've had your bloods redone but I wanted to message to say don't panic ❤️

My FSH was 9.7 ttc baby 1 and I was beside myself with fear i'd left it too late. I went on to have two lovely babies. FSH that is a little on the high side does not mean you won't be able to conceive, it just means you might need to get on with it- which you are already doing.

Also cd 6 is a bit late for accurate FSH. It goes up and up the closer you get to your LH surge x

An FSH of 9.4 is completely normal in the first half of your cycle! Try not to worry about it, and you're still early on in TTC. Have you been tracking ovulation with CM/OPKs/BBT? I found CM and BBT tracking where the best way to get to know my body and know we were dtd at the right time. Sending lots of baby dust!

I was told anything under 10 is fine for FSH,
