Egg donor help

Morning everyone,

I am donating eggs in a few weeks and due to lots of complicating circumstances, I'll be donating in London where I don't really know many people. After the collection you need someone to come and collect you and keep an eye on you for 24h. I have a friend who is WFH, so can definitely do the second part, but can't get the time off to come collect me.
Has anyone else been through this process and/or have any ideas about how to find someone who might be able to come pick me up and get the tube to my friend's with me?

Can't your friend come and meet you?

Oh I see they can't get the time off.

Depending on your clinic and how you think you'll be, you may be allowed to get a cab. (You'd need to ask the clinic first though). I've had 3 egg collection procedures for ivf and the first two at one clinic despite insisting someone collected me didn't even bother checking. They just asked if someone was coming I said yes and they let me go. (The second time I just asked someone to meet me at the clinic to walk out the door with then I let them go home and I got the tube by myself. But I never normally react to GA/ sedation so was pretty sure I'd be fine.) The third time they did say if no one could come I could arrange a cab as long as I agreed to go straight home. So I did that. But it is very much dependent on the clinic. And how you'll think you'll be after a sedation etc.

Thank you so much @Nothing1234 , I'll get in touch with them tomorrow to see if they'll just let me get an Uber.
Ultimately, can they actually keep me there? I was thinking that if I can't sort anything, surely I can sign a self-discharge, ir something to that effect?
I've never had issues with sedations or GAs in the past...
