Usually I have a 28 day cycle but decided to test CD8 and got 2 blue lines...... tested again today CD10 and still got 2 blue lines. surely if the fertile time is only 2 days that shouldn't have happened? I'm just hoping DH has got the stamina for another few sessions of BD. would be grateful if anyone has any ideas why this happens/if it means anything.

These kits measure LH levels.

The problem with such kits is that they assume women only have onr rise in LH every month and that a rise in LH is immediately followed by ovulation Both of these are not true.

Also if you are one of many women whose LH level is higher than average, then the kit can also give false readings.

Would not suggest you use opk's anyway as a means of trying to predict ovulation as they can be misleading (not just to say expensive).

Littleweed,

The companies who make the opk assume that women stop checking the day they detect an LH surge, feel extatic about it and go wild with their dps. I have read so much on the internet about this as I had the same puzzling experience the other month as curiosity prevailed and kept on testing. The LH surge does not disappear immediately but it takes sometime for the hormone to come down, i read a post that a lady called the company that made her opks and they told her exactly that and that she should go according to the first LH surge she had detected. As i said I had the same thing last month so i got worried as one of the brands was showing 2 lines for 3 days. On the 3rd day I bought another brand - Clear Blue and that one was showing negative. So it also depends on the sensitivity of the test.
i hope this helps, so you can go easy on your dh Smile.
