Hello,

I’ve just started our first ivf cycle this week! I’m on day 4 if injections on the short protocol!

We have unexplained secondary infertility and been trying over 2 years!

Anyone else started their ivf cycle around now and just want to chat/support each other? Anyone have any success/positive ivf stories? Im very nervous!

Hi there! Is it your first cycle?
I’m 1dp5dt - first cycle :)

TTCbabyno2in2022 · 06/07/2023 20:51

Ahh that’s exciting! Got everything crossed for you!

Yes first cycle, on day 4 of injections. I have a 5 year old that was conceived naturally so this is all very new and scary!

@WholeZebra sorry just seen you said first cycle! When are you due to test? What clinic have you gone with?

We’re with LWC. Who have you gone with?
I’m currently having all these bizarre side effects from the progesterone - similar to pregnancy symptoms which are spinning me out.

Hi Both,

How are you? Hope you don't mind me joining.
I'm on day 4 stims and having my day 5 scan tomorrow. I had a failed cycle last time, so this is my first cycle in a way. I just didn't respond to stims. I was on Menopur 150 and this time they have put me on Gonal f 225.
I'm hopeful for tomorrow and trying to stay positive.
Where are you both in your cycles?

WholeZebra · 23/07/2023 21:55

@BebeBelle Hi! Stay positive! I had a BFP - currently 5 weeks 4 days and A/W my scan

I've had 2 rounds previously, but not currently. Just a tip for anyone finding the injections painful/stingy.

I bought emla cream online, which is a local anaesthetic cream that numbs the skin. Its used for blood tests/cannulation for children in hospital. I used to put a pea sized blob on my stomach about 30mins before injecting, sit and wait and left it to absorb. It can be left longer, or you could put a dressing on to keep it there. You then wipe it off, clean the skin and inject as normal, but it certainly does take the edge off. Best of luck OP.

@WholeZebra , wow, that's amazing. Congratulations!!! Here is to hoping we will all be swapping positive stories soon.

I've just come back from my day 5 scan and I was much more positive than the last one. Last time I was on Menopur and I was stuck on 6mm follicle size. Today on Gonal F 225, I had some 6-10s mm, 11s. I'm celebrating these little positives. With PCOS I have a lot more follicles so I'm just praying that I have more quality than just quantity.
Keep me posted on your scans.

@CC4712 , thanks so much for sharing that tip. I find the Fyremadel more painful but it goes away after a few mins. Where are you in your cycle?

CC4712 · 24/07/2023 13:04

@BebeBelle I'm not in a cycle currently, but had 2 previously.

I'm a bit behind you all. I'm doing PGT, so although it's private, we have to wait for a biopsy slot. I find out in 2 days when I'll be starting stims. I've wanted another child since 2019 so I'm anxious that it's finally within reach.

I have PCOS and am >35. Can anyone recommend a good co-q10? What have you been taking?

How have you felt the side effects?

Best of luck 🤞

BebeBelle · 26/07/2023 23:06

@CC4712 aww thanks for supporting with the group. Hope all is well with you.

@SummerSun04 how did you get on with your appointment? Hope all went well and that you will be joining again soon.
Re: Co-q10, I've now moved to the pregnare care that has it in already. But for a while I think the one I used was the one recommended in the 'it starts with an egg' book.

Bit late to this but in case anyone else stumbles on this: re Q10, the Pharma Nord one is recommended in ‘It Starts With An Egg’, to do with the specific way it’s formulated (IIRC)

I'm with lwc too in harley street London. Where are you now in your ivf journey, have you had a successful pregnancy yet?

WholeZebra · 23/05/2024 06:17

@Faiza895 yes! I was actually pregnant and it wasn’t the progesterone. My LO is 8 weeks old. I have nothing but praise for LWC.

That's great. I wanted to ask I've started my menopur from yesterday, my prescribed dosage is 375 but I may have given myself 300 by mistake , what do i do?

I would have said just take the additional amount with a new syringe?
