35 plus and first time ttc?

Hello,

I’m 38 and currently in my first ever TWW. I was just wondering if anyone was in a similar boat as a lot of posts I’ve read seem to be from people who already have a child or people who are trying for the first time but are younger.

I’m 4DPO (I think) so it’s very early days for me. Trying to stay nice and calm and optimistic. Eeek!

Say hello if you are trying to conceive for the first time and aren’t exactly a spring chicken 🤣

xx

Hi! I'm 35, 36 in April and currently 2dpo. We've been ttc no5 for a while now and I'm really hoping this is our month!!

MoonlightDreamer · 25/08/2023 11:15

@Scarletthoping Hi lovely , your not alone. I'll be 38 this year and still trying for number 1 . I'm currently 5dpo

miamiamia869 · 25/08/2023 12:54

@Scarletthoping .. I'm 33 so a few years younger than you but no spring chicken. We have been trying on and off/ seeing how it goes for 2 years. But nothing so now really trying with ovulation tests ect as now starting to worry it won't work for us. First time using tests last month there didn't seem to be a high surge so going to be more regular with tests this month.

Hi all,

Lovely to get these notifications.
I’m writing this at 10 weeks pregnant having just thrown up my breakfast 🤢We got incredibly lucky with our TTC journey. I will never ever take for granted how lucky we have been. I pinch myself every day and part of me is waiting for the other shoe to drop. We had a major scare at 5 weeks with bleeding and cramping which went on for two weeks but two scans two weeks apart showed things were looking good. Just waiting for the 12 week scan now and trying not to feel anxious.

In case helpful, we basically followed the Sperm meets the egg plan (SMEP) which you’ll find if you Google if you haven’t heard of it. Although we actually did it more than that… We DTD 7 times over an 8 day period. We started on the Tuesday and then did Thu, Fri, Sat, Sun, Mon, Tue. According to the ovulation tests, I ovulated on the Saturday but we didn’t stop just in case it wasn’t accurate. I know it’s a lot to do it so much and I’m lucky my partner was up for it (excuse the pun) but I really think it made a difference in increasing our chances.

Anyway I’m sending you all lots of baby dust and really hope you get your BFPs really soon ✨✨✨💖

Congrats on your baby news

I can only hope for this im month 1

Been doing one ,twice a day for the last week during my fertile window

Hoping to catch month one but well aware I shouldn't get my hopes up.its great seeing positive stories tho and gives me hope

I'm 2 days po so have the grueling 2 week wait now.its funny how trying should be a joyfull thing yet its also a constant worry too.

Scarletthoping · 27/08/2023 16:20

@Bex4567 I feel you on the constant worry! The two week wait feels like it drags on for a year!

Crossing all my fingers and toes for you xx

hi there i hope ypu dont mind me checking in on everyones jpurney. im in my 30s and its been over 2 years now ttc no luck yet and doing fertility checks. hope dh will be more on board with ttc as we barely get to dtd especially at the time needed. i also have a hormonal issue though its not confirmed yet whether this is causing fertility issues but im hoping for the best by Gods grace this year.

Hiya. I actually go pregnant the cycle I wrote in this thread. Unfortunately I misscarrked at 12 weeks in November. On my first proper cycle since and currently 7dpo... as stated previously we tried for 2 years on and off. Then fell the 2nd cycle of using ovulation strips. Xx
