Idiots guide to OPK 😅

So I've seen loads of posts about using different kinds of OPK tests... I've read how to use them... Even watched YouTube videos!!!!

But I just don't get it 😂

I had a MC 2 weeks ago I was lucky to conceive after only trying for 6 months (37 next week so didn't think it would happen so quickly) but I'd only be tracking ovulation based off my period tracker app.

I do want to try again eventually. So if anyone has time and patience to try and explain how to do them I'd be ever so grateful 🙏

The way I do mine is,

Start testing about 5 days after the end of my period. Usually test just after lunch as apparently this is when the hormone shows up in your pee. There are two lines and one is the control line and shows up right away. The other is the test line. It’s usually faint but when you are going to ovulate it will be dark, as dark as the control line. My ‘surges’ are fast they last less than a day so if I feel like I’m ovulating I might test twice. You can log it in the app. Some people find their tests get darker closer to ovulation but mine go from faint to very dark within 24 hours.

After you ovulate the line will be faint so you can stop testing until you’re either pregnant or your period starts.

Basically if you see the line you could be ovulating in the next 12 to 24 hours I think. So I plot mine in the app so I can see roughly when it might be to make sure DH and I dtd around those dates. Otherwise I feel like it’s a lot of pressure thinking you only have a 12 hour window!
