Ovulation after possible chemical

Hi all, this is my first post on here.

Last cycle all seemed fairly standard - tested with opks, had a few days of high followed by peak fertility at cycle day 14 accompanied by ovulation pain. Started feeling quite rough around 8 dpo and thought I was getting faint positives at about 10/11 dpo but DP said he couldn’t see them (to be fair, I was having to squint quite hard so could have been my imagination). Period was then late by a day or so, and lighter than normal when it did arrive (but too much for implantation bleeding). Lines never got darker. Not sure if this was a chemical or whether the lines and symptoms were all in my head (or caused by the heat!).

I am now on cd8 of my new cycle. Tested yesterday on clear blue digital and got low, then this morning got peak. This is way too early for my normal cycle length. Is it possible that, if I did have a chemical pregnancy, the resulting hormones are still in my system and messing with the opk so it has given a false reading?

We will dtd tonight anyway to make sure, but now I’m wondering whether, if it’s false, I will be able to use the digital opk again this cycle, as it says you don’t need to use it again once you get the static smiley?

Has anyone had a similar situation / does anyone know how about hormones and opks than me who might be able to shed light on what’s going on? Or is my body just weird?!

thank you!
