TTC after miscarriage...need some positivity

Hi all,

I'm about to turn 29 (husband 32) and been TTC since July '22. Fell pregnant January '23 and miscarried at 6 weeks. During the scan they found a uterine polyp that was removed March '23. It took until May '23 for my cycle to go back to my usual 27 days and now had 2 cycles like this. I've been told there's no problems with me structurally or hormonally.

I KNOW it's been a relatively short time but I'm getting so frustrated and hopeless about ever getting pregnant. Can any ladies who have also been in this position give me any positive stories?! I feel like you only ever hear about women who get pregnant again immediately after MC or end up having a real struggle. I just wish I could have some guarantee that I will get pregnant and have our baby. I almost feel like I was never pregnant in the first place as it only lasted such a short time 💔any stories of hope please do send them my way 🙏

I fell pregnant in June 2021 miscarried at 9 weeks, fell pregnant again in October 2021 miscarried again at 6 weeks. I didn't conceive for the whole of 2022 and fell pregnant in March this year! Completely unexpected as I'd given up hope. I'm 15 weeks all going well so far. I have a blood clotting disorder which was diagnosed in January 2023 so I'm hoping medication has made all the difference for me. Are you tracking LH ?

Me and my partner are slightly older but similar ages to you and yours.

Im 28 caught pregnant just before my 26th birthday and had 3 pregnancy’s in 4 months, 2 miscarriages and my healthy baby girl but what i can say is it is the most scariest time but it can happen! It was a short space of time like you mentioned but I had to switch off and wasn’t careful which is why I ended up pregnant 3 times from January-April.

it will happen for you. When it does make sure you get all the support you can get and talk to your support network. I went to the early pregnancy unit and was checked over for the 2nd and third pregnancy and I had a lot of private scans. Try and keep positive stay calm and just try and have fun while trying. It’s the hardest thing to go through when all you want is a baby ❤️

It will be the best and biggest miracle! I always look at it like as much as I chose to have her she chose to stay with us and that’s what will happen with you!

Thank you @firsttimemum1230 ❤️❤️

Congratulations @carrot87 I'm so pleased to hear this! I was tracking LH but then it became a bit all consuming and was stressing us out, so I stopped last month. As my cycles are so regular I know it tends to be about day 15 I think. Hope you don't mind me asking was the blood clotting disorder diagnosed to do with TTC or just coincidence? Xxx

Yeah I get that, made it all seem like a chore. I stopped tracking just tracked my periods for a year and we concentrated on enjoying ourselves lol. I found out I had a blood clotting disorder through the miscarriage clinic, which to be honest was a blessing in itself as it's quite a rare one and does put me at risk of further health problems. I'm just being referred to a bigger hospital and will probably have to stay on blood thinners for the rest of my life. Are you under the care of a recurrent miscarriage clinic ? If not you should be having so many losses. I asked my gp she referred me.

thecoconutcat · 24/06/2023 23:22

@carrot87 I've only had one loss 🙏

I'm sorry for your loss @thecoconutcat - I also fell pregnant in January 23 and lost it in March 23 at 8 weeks, after seeing a heartbeat on a scan just a few days before.
My cycle didn't regulate afterwards- periods and ovulation did return but very irregular. So I tracked everything, managed to catch ovulation at start of June and I'm now 5 weeks pregnant.
I'm very anxious about anything going wrong again but trying hard to take it a day at a time.
I've only told a few people and they've all commented how "quickly" I fell pregnant again. Like you I KNOW it hasn't been long but it didn't feel quick to me. 3 months spent not pregnant when I "should be" pregnant, obsessing over ttc and not knowing what my body is doing, it felt like a long time.
I really hope your bfp is just around the corner.

thecoconutcat · 25/06/2023 11:39

Thank you @Hankthehonk ❤️ congratulations, I hope to be following in the same direction soon. With catching ovulation is it better to DTD before the peak or after?

OP posts:
Hankthehonk · 25/06/2023 13:35

@thecoconutcat the peak indicates that you'll ovulate soon, likely the next day. I tracked my temperature as well as doing opk testing because ovulation is confirmed by a temperature rise.
Sperm can "hang around" for up to 5 days so you've got a longer window before your peak than after. The advice is to dtd every other day through your fertile window and on ovulation day if you can.

This time we weren't expecting ovulation as things were so irregular so only dtd 5 days before ovulation (this was just sex for the sake of it, weren't thinking of it as dtd) then once on ovulation day itself after I'd caught the peak the day before. One of those two obviously worked!

Hello @thecoconutcat hoping that things are looking up for you since this thread was started?

I’m also TTC but this time is taking longer than previous (I’m on my 4th cycle now since we started trying).. I had a MC in March, so I totally get you with the worry x
