Just wondering does anybody know if ovualtion can be similar to early pregnancy signs.

I asked a similar question last week.
For the last 3 months I felt sick, tired, dizzy and generally unwell and was told by other MNetters that that was indeed ovulation.Obviously it's different for everybody but it certainly felt like the early pregnancy symptoms to me.

For me no.

Ovulation I get a pain on the side I ovulate from.

Early pg signs for me are metallic taste in mouth and then tingly feelings in my (.)(.) especially in shower/bath/swimming pool. It is a very distinctive feeling not just sore or tender and only had it when pg.

Not for me. On ovulation day I get a heavy feeling in my lower abdomen followed by a sharp pain in one side.

'sick, tired, dizzy and generally unwell ' generally are not signs of ovulation as far as I am aware - more likely a virus (or pregnancy!)

Some women may have abdominal pain around the time of implantation, which they could mistake for ovulation or period pains (I know I have done that!)

lalaland1 · 23/02/2008 09:45

When does implantation really happen? I know when I ovulate so I count pregnancy from that date whereas docs count from 2 weeks before, don't they!? And how long does the pain last? Hours, days?

LyraSilvertongue · 23/02/2008 09:46

For me the pain only lasts aminute or so but the heavy, uncomfortable feeling can go on all day.

lalaland1 · 23/02/2008 09:48

I meant the implantation pain, sorry .Hors, days?

VeniVidiVickiQV · 23/02/2008 09:48

Yes - i had the ache one side (corpus luteus cyst)

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 23/02/2008 09:49

I get ovulation pain, but it feels like a stitch in my side and lasts for a couple of hours.

Early pregnancy symptoms for me are sore nips and an overly sensitive sense of smell.

Oh, and I don't think I've ever had implantation pain.

When I have been pregnant I feel terrible a few days before the period is due. All kinds of symptoms. not just the pain in the boobs mentioned in the thread, but stomach pains, running to the loo, feeling sick! I even had what seemed like the start of my period and light bleeding for the first week! This would start about 3 to 4 days before the period would be due. I also have pain at ovulation and yes they can feel the same. I have three kids now and although all are different i have felt terrible!! LOL

Good luck all! I know the pain of trying. I was told once I would never have any and now I have 3 so never say never!

I'm feel very sick like I'm pregnant, but I'm ovulating. This just started happening when I turned 40. It's so overwhelming. I'm always tired and dizzy my vision gets blurry and I have a lot of nausea. So for you ladies that's having these type of symptoms, yes it ovulation. I'm wondering how I'm gonna feel when I do get pregnant. SMH. Lol.
