Low Follicle

Kindly educate me. I went for my 1st initial consultation today. Scan was only able to detect 4 follicles on the left and 2 on the right (so 6 in total) I'm so nervous with the number of follicles seen. Does fertility treatment help grow more follicles? Does follicle numbers indicate success? What can I do to grow more follicles?

I will be 39 years next month.

What i can remember they look too take the best looking growth of the eggs. I had 10 follicles but took 7 which where the best. I think you get given a drug to help boost the amout of eggs etc.
